Just made cake balls using a spice cake mix with cream cheese frosting mixed in, and coated with melted white choc. chips, thinned with a little veggie oil.  Not bad at all.

He's another recipe I just found.  Holy smokes these look good:

Here's another one.  Man, this would be so fun to make.

That recipe sounds awesome and would be so great made into cake balls!

So last night I made spice cake cake balls covered in white chocolate.  My daughter took some to school today to have the friends do some taste testing.  OMG, they loved them.  Her one guy friend said he'd pay for them.  haha.  He is cute.  This is the same boy who loves my sandwiches that she takes for lunch, so I've made him his own sandwich a couple of times and now he thinks I'm just the best cook ever.  Several of her guy friends even made comments in her year book signing saying "your mom makes awesome sandwiches."  haha.  Too funny.   I think I'll make some strawberry cake balls covered in chocolate and send those to school with her.  Is nice to try things out and then not have them all sitting around here for us to eat.  Those kids will love me :)

O.K. our cake ball conversation is cooling off here.  Today I made a strawberry cake and mixed in cream cheese frosting.  Coated them with chocolate, then drizzled white choc. across them.  Almost like choc. covered strawberries.  VERY good.  My daughter is taking most of them to school tomorrow.  The kids in her classes think I'm a totally amazing baker. ha.  It's too funny.  School is out on thursday so if I want to try some new things and not have them sit around here for us to eat them all, I better get busy and send stuff with her every day.  I told her if she wants, this summer I'll make a bunch of stuff and she can invite them all over for taste testing.  That would be too much fun.  But a fun way for me to try some new things and not be eating it all.

I just got back for going to the city with my daughter, Kacy and a friend, Eva. We had some errands to run and to have lunch together of course. I went to Barnes & Noble to pick up the book, "Cake Pops" by "Bakerella!! I finally have it in my hands and I am so excited!! I have two orders to do this week, one arrangement of German Chocolate and Red Velvet Pops and then Eva is having her son's birthday and she ordered chocolate pops!!! I am getting busy and loving it so much. Oh, I also got in a random drawing on a site that I belong to that makes wooden boards with the holes drilled for the sticks of the pops. She had two that had the slightest oops on them and she did a drawing on the two she was offering. I was one of the winners!! I am so excited, now I have a board to place them on once they are done! Her husband and dad make them and she paints them to sell them. She ships all over. The facebook page is KC Bakes. Check her fan page out, she really does nice work!

Sounds like something I need to check out!  (oh, boy!  I probably need to get a new storage just for these little gadgets I can't seem to stay away from!)  Thanks for the info, Sharon!

I've just been using the foam ones they sell at Joann's/Michael's.  I left the plastic cover it came with and just wipe it clean after each use.  But one of these days, I'd have poked way too many holes to hold any more cake pops.

And I have Bakerella's book, too!  I don't remember if it's on this book, but have you seen her cheesecake ball idea?  Plain ole leftover cheesecakes made into cakeballs!    Come to think of it, I might try those for my niece's upcoming graduation for the Graduation Caps...or if I'm lazy, I'll just grab some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups or Rollo's caramels for the cap part.  :-)

Not cake balls, but it's the same idea and these, I can eat---unfortunately. :)

Brownie balls/brownie pops (because of its consistency, it doesn't require extra binders).

And of course, the Oreo balls are always a hit.  Jut crushed oreos and chocolate bars.  Yum!

These sound totally yummy!!! I haven't made them yet, I have made cake ones thus far. I have an order for German Chocolate and Red Velvet for one order, then another order will be chocolate. I am not sure what next week's order is yet, I am planning on making them *Apples* as it will be for a teacher.

Enjoy making and of course................eating them too!!!

ok, I realize that I'm hogging this thread but I can't help myself.  It's what happens when I stay home sick.  :-)

I have toasted coconut flakes to cover the outsides of the German Chocolate balls; they were apparently awesome.  The plus for me was that it was the easiest to work with and less expensive compared to the candied sprinkles.  (or red velvet with a tiny ball of cream cheese filling...)

You aren't "hogging" the thread, it is sharing and all so fun! So, I should sprinkle toasted coconut over the German Chocolate ones? That sounds good and I am sure it will look great! I am planning on using cream cheese with the red velvet so I am sure they will also look great! I don't know the person that I am making them for, she is a co-worker of a friend. I will be up to my elbows in cake pops as of tomorrow!!!!

Sounds like a lot of work, Sharon!  Time-consuming if nothing else.  More power to you!

Yea, I just rolled the balls on a pan of toasted coconut flakes.  Less mess than the sprinkles.
