OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Power School class 1103
Anyone have sons or daughters in Power School class 1103?
My son is in 1103-10. I was recently in GC and met several of his friends - I was very happy that they are all very bright and intense people. My boy has surrounded himself with some very good people. I mentioned the N4M website and while none of them knew about it, several thought their mothers would be into it. So I am putting the call out there and hoping to connect with other parents.

This is definitely interesting to learn about. Thanks for helping us learn about all the options. As for getting a degree, what are your sailors saying about trying to do this remotely while they are deployed? My son has heard that it is hard to find the time to fit in studies. Have you heard the same?

Mine has mentioned that he might get a room change He said its more of a pain than anything if they move you on a friday its a weekend with no internet since comcast is out there like on Tues and Thrs(maybe) I know he went tux shopping a couple of weeks ago with someone from TN for Prom. and He played Baseball last friday night. He still goes in every sunday for study its been routine since HS sunday afternoon can't help around the house its home work time
He did mention it is alot of review from the MM point of view. I do know that he has mentioned he thinks its easy and is a little bored I say good hopefully we all can get through Power with all of our kids thinking that......
Take care everyone. Yes he did txt me his team won the baseball game then he said oh my math and physics test were good also a 3.9 and a 3.6 ish but the score of the game was more important.

Sorry I haven't posted recently, Ladies. Here's a compilation of what Keith told me over the last couple of weeks: They are studying a new subject: Electrical Theory for Mechanical Operators (aka ETMO) which is "painfully easy." They are also still studying Heat Transfer. They had the Physics final and Section 10 was way below the other sections - Keith says it was because the ETMO assigned them way more homework than the others eating into their study time for Physics. The group lost some privileges because of their poor performance. Another new subject next week: Reactor Principles. Heat Transfer final on Friday.
They are doing PT and he's gotten a lot of bug bites. He's also suffering from seasonal allergies (strange, he didn't have that problem here.) I sent him a bunch of non-drowsy allergy pills to try. That's all we need - sleepy sailors - not too good for studying. He says there's an official PFA this week - one that goes on his record.
Keith said there was a rumor going around that the grad hold time is so long now that they are sending some to sea as a regular MM until there are places open for Prototype.
Anyone have any other news?

I just posted on another discussion group (Prototype Class 1101) asking about the grad hold times and what she knows. Her sailor, I believe, graduated Power School in April. There seems to be a discrepancy in information here......

Ok I had to listen to my son last night and tell him to calm down,, He insist that his class is getting screwed.. For the 4 day weekend on the 4th of July they have a big test the day before break (which he says is no biggie) and 2 big ones the folowing 2 days right after break. So he claims great I gotta study for 2 test on the holiday weekend. He was hoping to fly home. I told him if you come home you can fly back day early to study. which he barley studies anyway. His goal is to get 3.7 (i think) so he can get 2 hour leave early. He did calm down when I said it was still possable. he is checking the schedule today. He was gonna ask Do you just want most of us to flunk the test after the 4th?? Yes he has balls enough to ask. He also said he had the grades to ask also..
I guess test today and one on Mon or tues he told me he has to get his GPA back up it dropped a little good enough for me but not for him.
So heads up everyone their starting to check the schedule for the 4th of July weekend......
Mine hasn't mentioned hold time yet for MMs I can ask him all he said He is now informing them he wants ELT and thats all. earlier he did say something about tx to NY if he gets it in Feb.to start in March or it could be Jan for Feb thats whats on their itenary but it could change.

Hmmm . . my son is coming home for the July 4th weekend, so either the tests immediately following the holiday aren't right after break, or he's just not too concerned about them yet. Either way, he is coming home, and he won't be back until Monday evening, so I hope he gets his studying in wherever he needs to.
He mentioned last night that the Widowmaker is next week Monday (the 20th), so we've got our fingers crossed that all do well.

Mine is home from the 30th thru 0600 on the 4th. he called to night and needs a break from school.
The only test he said is that they are starting comps early so there is a group doing the comp" staches" he doesn't pay attention to test Oh well.
He is saying there is 4 of them getting a house or an apartment in NY and he can't wait to cook he wants to cook dinner everynight..Hopefully roomies like frozen pizza and spag and chicken parm and sometime tacos,. and don't forget ceral.... Thinking I'm gonna start picking up clearance dishes etc for a box when he moves . LOL
