Hi everyone, opening this discussion for others that are having their sailors starting Power School this week and part of Class 1105.  Mine is going to be in section 11 and I am sure there are many others of you whose sailors are starting class this coming week as well.

My son is also starting Power School on the 23rd - I don't know what section he will be in, but will ask next time I talk to him.
Sounds great, Navy.  Maybe we can share last names through messaging and I can ask my son about yours next time I talk to him.
Not entirely sure how to message on this site - my son is an EM - if you know how to message, send me a message and I will reply.
My son is in section 8...anyone know the signifcance of the section #. He is an MM

So I just talked to my son - he is in Class 1105-1.  He is an EM.  The significance of the section number is the group of students they go to class with each day.  They are divided up by rate so all EM's, MM's and ET's are in classes together.  Kind of like college when you have graduates of different schools or departments.  So each of us have kids that will have similar schedules but won't go to class with each other.

My son's class is 1105-7.  He is an MM.  Anyone else here with a son in this class?  It's so very exciting.  I love being able to talk to him on a regular basis.  Nothing at all like BC!  Thank God for that!!!  He doesn't always return my calls or texts right away, but eventually he does.  I know now with Power School those calls and texts will be fewer.  He did really well in A-school, so I'm hoping that Power School will be a breeze.  LOL!  Wishful thinking!!!  He was one to never study in High School.  So, studying has become something new for him.  I'll have to ask him how many in each class.  In his A-school class there were only 12.  He loved that.  They all became very close and studied together.  I'm sure that helps a lot to have study partners.

My other son is in Pensacola Corry Station.  He is a CTR.  Hasn't started class yet, but hoping to class up soon.  There isn't a group for CTR's like this Nuke group.  I wish there was.  I'll have to keep trying to find one.  Or start one myself.  Have a great day ladies!!!!

Hi Pamela, well I am learning about this PS stuff.  Seems there are at least 11 different sections of Power School but in each of them is only one rating.  So MMs consist of at least section 7, 8 and 11.  Our section has approximately 30 MMs in it and starting out with Math, Physics and Reactor Principles (or something like that).
My son told me there is 30 MM's in his class also. He's so happy be moved into his new compartment.  His roommate with Hep C was very dirty!  My son didn't touch anything in the room.  I asked him last night why that kid was allowed to stay in there with him?  He said they were all asking that question.  Never got a reply.  He thinks that he will be discharged because he's waiting on some medical papers.  I told my son to go and get a blood test to make sure he's clear.  He's positive he hasn't contracted it.  I sure hope not.  What are they thinking leaving that kid in there with my son?!  Makes me so darned mad!  I guess the kid's blood test came back from BC with a question about the Hep C.  They did another blood test and yes, he for sure has it.
I think my son is in class 1105.  He started 6/23/11.  I don't know what section he is in, but he did say there were 34 in his section.  He is an EM.  I'll try to find out what section he is in.  Is the graduation date 12/9?

My son is in 1105-2.  Is Power School Graduation December 2 or 9.  I need to make reservations now because it's holiday season.

Thank you.

My son told me that it is December 2.

My son also said Dec 2 -
MomofNuke - when did your son graduate A school? Mine is an EM as well and probably knows your son.
