Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ladies - i have a question- my son arrived in Charleston on Sept. 15th....i have items that i need to ship or mail to him.  My husband was to ship them- ups.  Can we or do we have to use regular postal service???

Does anyone know?  Thanks! Kimbo

I have found that regular postal service is cheaper than UPS.

Depending on what you are sending - I have the opposite opinion.  As long as you pack the things yourself and bring them to UPS ready to go - they are cheaper than the post office.  However, if you have items that you need them to pack for you - my son wanted his tennis racket sent down and i had to buy the box from UPS - then it's VERY expensive. 

I sent a good sized box about 3 weeks ago and it was HEAVY.  Tons of homemade cookies and other canned goods items like microwave soups etc.  Only cost me $12.00 and it got there in 2 days.  Sending through the post office was twice as much. 

Everything you send goes directly to the mail room, regardless of how it's shipped, and your sailor is notified to come and pick it up.

When your saying a good sized box...whould you say a computer paper box? Is there a limit to the size they can receive?

I would also recommend that your son get a PO Box for his mail.  We sent a few very important pieces of mail and two of them took him over 2 weeks to get and the third one he never got.  After he got the PO Box he never had a problem.

My son just left for Goose Creek today - reports in tomorrow at 4pm (had PIR 12/21).  He left me a pile of stuff that he wants sent to him so now trying to figure out the best way to get it there - trying to decide UPS or USPS?  Guess I'll have to figure out how big the box is going to be and then decide from there!

On the PO Box - is this something that they can get on base or is it off base?  And is this where you shipped packages to also?  Appreciate any help I can get!
