we got our invitation.
they sure dont give them alot of time to decide on some things.
I received our invitation to Power School graduation last week. My son didn't take the prefill either. He says he didn't want to have to find an apartment and furnish it right before comps. According to him, that is when he would have to move out of the barracks. I was kind of hoping he took prefill but he has to do what is best for him. It's going to be a long wait for the next prototype class.
wow......im surprized they didnt jump on early fill.......colin is excited and ready to get it going and get to the fleet! well they gotta do what they think is best for them.....i know mine didnt want to be on hold forever!
a year ago today my hubby drove colin away from home to begin his journey in the Navy, oh how time flys, but couldnt be prouder!
update on Colins prototype prefill.....was suppose to be october, now grads PS july 20th and checks in for prototype July 30th....yikes, full speed ahead! 10 days down time in between is all!
Son called last night .That is 2 days in a row to give me the dates he can have off after power school graduation. We are planning on bringing him home with us for nearly a week after graduation. Maybe he will be able to fix some of the computer issues I have been having.
Amanda that is really fast . Son told me last night that yesterday they were still looking for 8 more MM's for prefill. He said he volunteered but didn't get picked. He also said he could have so many days off at Christmas time and was told that most likely they would have already reported to prototype by then. I hope that info in accurate.
i have the villas reserved from july 19-25, decided we will stay at sons apatment if anyone is interested and is still looking to reserve for graduation.........3 bedroom...ssmith12547@ec.rr.com if interested.
OK, son called, he's prefill. Has to be out of his barracks 7/19 and ready to start prototype 8/3. Here's my question...is there any person or organization that will help them find an apartment in NY? My husband and I flying to grad and then he's driving with son to NY but would like to have an apartment before he gets there, or at least a starting point to find one. Also, he has to buy a new car (used) to make the drive. Any suggestions about where to go to get a reliable one? Any and all suggestions/information would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Boy they aren't giving them much time to make the change. I can't imagine it is going to be easy to find a place to live while they are still going to Power school. Good luck to all . The good news is they won't be moving to BS in the winter. I lived up in that area during college.
another test down with a great grade yesterday....yay....getting so close! Had a nice visit with gramps on our vacation to Illinois......busy busy......gotta head down to GC with uhaul truck full of sons furniture and belongings as he moves into his apartment june 28th...will be a quick week-end visit.....then back down in july for graduation!
I need a vacation from my vacations! LOL
whoo-hoo...called ITT and explained to them that colins schedule has been pushed forward and he had an apartment that we could stay at instead of the villas and the manager stated she would give me a full refund because the "Navy could be a real pain"....haha....her words! So glad...had it rented for a week with no takers for the week....really hated to take a big loss on it!
