Kathy- Thanks! One of the girls actually told me about it yesterday so hopefully I'll be able to hang out this week with them! It's good to know I'm not the only one that has to keep themselves busy! Thank you so much! Congrats on the new baby! I bet you are so excited! They are such a blessing! Get your sleep now though! :0)

Cheesecake--I manages to stay busy by going to school full time and interning full time, but now that I've graduated from college and finished, I'm at home a lot more (we are moving soon, so can't really get a job) I'm also expecting (due Friday)...I'm thankful I had school to keep myself busy with through all of A school, power school, and the beginning of prototype. After I was done w/school, I chose to stay with my internship (up til my 37th week of pregnancy), worked on crafts, cooking/baking, shopping, going out, watching movies, and hanging out w/friends. I cannot stay at home all day! Are you aware of the Thursday Girls group on base? It's a weekly get together w/food and friends! Most of the wives have kids, so it would be a great way for you and your daughter to get out.

Vallery - thank you so much for your insight. My sailor was always my TMI son. I always knew WAY more than I really wanted BUT was so happy that my son trusted me with information. I spoke to him for a while last week and he was telling me that he loved his BM classes, hated Math but was doing well. I just thank God that he has a wife and our grand-dog to go home to each night, no matter how late it is. I do talk to DIL regularly but I sure miss those long funny conversations with my son.

How do you wives of nukes make it not seeing your hubby EVER? I have a baby girl (5 months) and it has been so hard on me taking care of her pretty much by myself. My poor hubby is in power school now and is ALWAYS at school. You would think I'd be used to it by now. He is on Vols but he is just a super hard worker and studies his behind off. Understandably so. I appreciate him so much and what he does and I cannot imagine being in this program myself. I just wondered what you wives (and wives with kiddos) do to pass the time and cope?

ks mom, formerly "Proud Mom",

BAH for Charleston for E3 and 4 is $1194.00 w/dependants and $966.00 w/out. Balston Spa/Albany NY is $1290.00 and $1056.00. So yes they get more if they are married/dependants.

Thanks, Vallery...great insight. You are right most of us probably know very little of what goes on there. The reason I long to hear more from my son is so I can understand what he is going through.

I read it's also common in the military.

I got this from Mayo Clinic.com

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is caused by a strain of staph bacteria that's become resistant to the antibiotics commonly used to treat ordinary staph infections.

Most MRSA infections occur in people who have been in hospitals or other health care settings, such as nursing homes and dialysis centers. When it occurs in these settings, it's known as health care-associated MRSA (HA-MRSA). HA-MRSA infections typically are associated with invasive procedures or devices, such as surgeries, intravenous tubing or artificial joints.

Another type of MRSA infection has occurred in the wider community — among healthy people. This form, community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA), often begins as a painful skin boil. It's spread by skin-to-skin contact. At-risk populations include groups such as high school wrestlers, child care workers and people who live in crowded conditions.

What is MSRA infection? I've never heard of it? How did he get it?

I meant a MSRA infection not MRSE
