OK, so as usual, be careful what you wish for. My son called me yesterday at work and said he had good news and bad news. The good news was he scored great on his last test and his average is very good. THe bad news was he thought he had been bitten by a brown recluse. He was to go back to the clinic this morning. I thought that was waiting a bit. He called this morning and said that it was an MRSE infection and he had one on his chest. I am well versed with this because his sister has had two and they treated them with many different antibiotics. Very strong ones. I hate that he is so far away and I am completely out of the loop. They lanced them and packed the one on his back. (I'm sorry if this is graphic.) So of course I guess no news is good news! He does say he likes it. He seems very content with the path he is on.

Elizabeth & Darla - you make me feel so much better! I've been getting the same kind of response from my son. And Darla, I feel the same way. I call, have nothing to say because I'm just kind of boring with work every day & nothing new. Writing letters when he was in boot camp was a challenge because of that.
Yeah, I would love it if he would take time for mom once in a while. the few conversations have been good though.
it does help to know that I'm not the only one.

My son must be doing well. He rarely calls and when I call him he has no time to talk. He seems busy but also seems to have time to have fun just no time to talk to mom.

Hello! I am a new member. Is there a website that has the nuke school schedule? Son is now in Great Lakes, PIR 8/27. A school next - how long is it and then what? I am unfamiliar with all the terminology, too. Anyone have a link to a site? thanks

Is this in addition to the two that committed suicide last week?? As I understood it from my sailor they were both men.
