Hi Dawn - sorry you didn't get a response sooner here. This group isn't real active - the nuke moms page is where you want to post your question. One thing I can recommend is a black G Shock watch - we got our son one from Kohl's when he graduated boot camp. It doesn't have to be real expensive - black rubber band is the best for wearing with uniforms.
He won't need much for his room - pretty much everything is provided - there is a discussion about it in the nuke moms group.
My son is graduating high school in June, shipping off shortly thereafter to boot camp and then off to A-school in Charleston so he can follow in his dad's footsteps to be a Nuke.
My question is, people keep asking me what to get him for graduation, and really, other than money/gift cards, I don't know what to tell people. So here's my question:
When they move in to A-school in Charleston, I know bed and dresser is provided. What will he need to be "move in ready"?
ILsubmom - My son sent his PC to Goose Creek, so I asked him. True to form he doesn't remember if he used UPS, Fedex or USPS (thank goodness he can remember all that math and science!), so I can't help you there. He did advise wrapping the tower in bubble wrap. He didn't and it arrived with "some superficial damage". The monitor broke, though, so he advises you sailor buy one at the NEX rather than shipping his. It's the tower that really matters, obviously.
Hope this helps!
Has anyone had experience sending larger, fragile items like a desktop computer via UPS to the Charleston base? We tried to ship an upright vacuum through Amazon & it ended up being refunded because it was "undeliverable". Any advice would be appreciated!
Welcome Clover0626! Please be sure to join NUKE moms too. The group is more active and you'll find more info there.
Pat - T-track can be anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.
How long is the T-track between A School and PS?
GTsMim- thank you!!
