Laurilyn~My son graduation from A school mid June. He was supposed to start Power in July, but now has been told Sept. He is enjoying the break.

laurilyn--none of us can tell you the answer. Just your son! It depends on security clearances, how many people are needed in the class, and a few other factors. He should be finding out within the next few months :)

dmab, my husband and I just returned a few days ago from Charleston, SC to attend my son's graduation from A School. We had a great time in SC. That area was so beautiful and green. We stayed one week and he was able to spend the long holiday weekend with us spending time like a tourist..golfing, touring, and eating out. We met his sailor buddies and spent some time doing his activities, too. This is what we did: Plantations (Drayton Hall, Magnolia, Middleton). Attractions (South Carolina Aquarium, Ft. Sumter). Beaches (Folly Beach, Isle of Palms). Restaurants (Bubba Gump). Golfing (Wescott Plantation, Summerville Country Club)

I am going to Charleston to visit in a few weeks for a weekend. Any suggestions on what to do and where to eat. I would like to fit in all of the best highlights of the area.

Someone did say quite awhile back that SC had very low rates for registering cars. I know in California that is not true and in our county it may go up again soon. If it's not a real pain I think I would register a car anywhere but California.

Colleen,
When I took my son's car to last Feb. I went to DMV, registered it in his name and when we got to Goose Creek we got him insured over the internet with GEICO. Another option a lot of people here like is USSA Insurance but we found it a little high. Both companys have military disounts and are great for these guys who go to different States as the insurance follows them easily. We are keeping his car registered in Calif. as that is his permanent address for taxes and voting but you can register in South Carolina, your choice.
