Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son graduates proto 1/23 and will be leaving and doesn't have room to take them in his car.....I can get more info and pictures if anyone is interested.

But he was told that SC would be his next stop after bootcamp! So looking forward to meeting people that are in the same situation! :) Hope everyone is having a great day!

Comment by WearsLargeHats on November 4, 2014 at 5:11pm: navygf11, you won't be able to live with him unless you get married. Unmarried sailors have to stay in the BEQ through Power School. They get apartments for prototype, but once they get to the fleet, if I understand correctly, they generally are back in base housing until they make E5.
As far as where they can be stationed after training, nukes go with carriers and subs. See the list at http://www.navy.mil/navydata/ships/lists/homeport.asp and look for CVN, SSN, SSBN, and SSGN.

We both are thinking of marriage and I was wondering if we will be able to live together during his A School if I move up there and where he might be stationed at later on..
