This group is not used very often, I'd post in "Navy Moms" group. It's very active and not just moms. Wives, girlfriends, dads etc and lots of veterns to this program. Good luck and 'happy pushing' as they sometimes say.
Your husband will enroll you in DEERS during his first couple weeks in basic. He'll be able to mail you the paperwork you need to go to the nearest military base to get your ID. From there, I was able to use Tricare right away. Since you were married before bootcamp, moving will be easier and faster. My husband arrived in Goose Creek on a Saturday and I was there in our house on base by Thursday. It was a relatively smooth process. I chose to fly here first and do a Navy move. I'm not sure I'd recommend that with a new baby because we lived in an empty house with only an air mattress and a laptop for about a month! If you're doing a DITY move, he *should* be able to come get you and move your things. Even though we did a Navy move and expected no reimbursements, they still paid for my plane ticket. We received the money about 10 business days after I arrived and my husband told them I was here. I'm probably rambling, but I hope I answered your questions!
