My son started classes 5/23.  He doesn't ever tell me names, but he did say a classmate who is from SC, his mom came into town for a visit and had about a dozen classmates over a couple of times while the mom cooked dinner for them.  I don't know who you are out there, but thanks for being a Mom to the gang.

NewNavyMom3, my son started in May.  He lives in apt off base and does his own thing on the weekends.  But I know he had to put in a request (chit) to come home to NJ for labor day weekend when they are off.

My son will be heading to school in Charleston in a few weeks.  Does anyone know if they have the ability to leave the school on weekends?

My son moved in May to one bedroom apt at Daniel Island Village, Daniel Island, 29492.

My son just move to Charleston last week to start Nuke school. He lives in a complex called The Factory at Garco in North Charleston. Brand new apartments -very nice. About -5 minute drive from school

My son is now at prototype, but while in Charleston he lived at an apartment complex  located at 9345 Blue House Road   - Ladson, SC 29456 (sorry do not remember complex name),but it was nice and close to base.  Many of his friends going through the same program lived here also.  Hope this helps.

My son will start nuke school in September. He plans to visit in the next couple of weeks to check out apartments. Any suggestions for best places or ones to avoid?

LTB> Yes, my son had to choose between starting right after graduation in May or hanging around ROTC unit until November. So 3 days after commissioning he was on the road from UT to SC. Don't talk much with him, between class and homework he is there 12 hours a day.

My son starts OCS in Newport in July.  Anyone else have a LO starting then?
