Hello all. My husband started OCS on November 14th and will graduate February 18th. He will be starting Supply School in Newport in April. Does anyone know what week they are able to leave base on the weekends? I remember reading something about this but now I can't find it! I am currently in Tuscaloosa, Alabama finishing up my Master's degree in nutrition and a Dietetic Internship, but plan on moving to Newport in February (which will be around his week 10). I was just wondering if he would be able to come to our house on the weekends. Ant help would be appreciated!!

That is a good question.I am not sure how that would work with the NAVY.I know more about how the ARMY deals with this. You might want to join a group from Pensacola and see if they might know,or call the housing people on base.Sorry I couldnt help with this one.Let us know what you find out.

Hey ladies,
I have some questions about post OCS. If he gets commissioned and his orders call him to flight school in Pensacola FL is that considered training nor a duty post? If yes, does this mean that the Navy doesn't incur any of the moving costs? How long is travel time if we decide to fly? How about if we drive? I was hoping that some of you had some insight this is all very new to us. Thanks for the help!
