Got our son's box today. He sent home most of the stamps we gave him and postage paid postcards, along with the expected items. Can't wait for the letter! Lighting our blue candle and praying around it each night.

I went through that last week, mix emotions just like you. I miss my son everyday. Work keeps me occupied by there are times I just break down and cry at work, driving or just whenever. I received "the box" this week with his belongings and I lost it. I know how you feel, hang in there. Be strong, god is good!

My son left for RTC today; just got the 10 second call. Managed to hold it together at MEPS and most of the day! Although I did have my "moments." he said we should have the box in a few days and the next call in 3 weeks. Now the next phase of waiting and prayers begins! Thanks for being here as a source of support.

Just dropped our sailor recruit at the recruiter's. He sent a text to be at MEPS tomorrow at 9for the swearing in ceremony and then he leaves for RTC. Feeling a wide variety of emotions now: proud, worried, happy for him, and so much more.

My son is leaving for boot camp on Oct 1 2015. He has p/t with his recruiter twice a week, but I'm worried he's not taking getting himself ready for boot camp serious and is going to have a really hard time.

My heart goes out to the family, friends and Division of the Recruit who died suddenly at GL after completing Battlestations on Nov 30th. The recruit was set to PIR this Friday 12.5.14.
Please light your blue candles in prayer if not already lit.

All of these comments are so encouraging. I'm on day 4 and I am such a mess, I have not been able to do anything this week, my mind is all over the place and I feel like no one understands this other than all of you. I thank God for this website and really feel for those moms who don't know about it. I read all the comments and find myself going thru these same emotions and it really helps me feel validated that I'm not the only one. I get excited for all of you for the little milestones while waiting for my own. This is great networking. Good luck to all of you and your sons and daughters. And I look forward to the coming weeks where I can get myself somewhat back together!

Ship 14 Div. 040. He had his 18th birthday yesterday. I miss him a lot but I'm thankful I was able to send him a card even though it will arrive late. I look at his picture and start to tear up along with other random times. I just try to keep busy because when I'm idle to long and think of him I want to cry.

Hi everyone - I just wanted to pop in and say Hi!  My son left for bootcamp exactly one year ago today!  WOW is all I can say.  Trust me the time will FLY by....I am happy to say my son is doing well - he is in nuke school in So. Carolina and we are anxiously awaiting his power school graduation on Dec. 13th.  Can't wait to see him!  We do miss him but he is doing what he wanted to do and we are so proud of him....
