Trisha- Molly's Adopt A Sailor just adopted the USS Iwo Jima a couple months ago. I sent two care package for them...
Carole - I have heard also that some RDCs make them do push ups for everytime a mother posts on here.
Riley I was going through the same thing you are going through right now a year ago. Today is my Sailor's 1 year Anniversary. This last year has really gone fast just be prepared for the rollcoaster of emotions you are going to be going through. There will be many.
Hi all;
Haven't been on in a long time. For the October 2009 moms, can believe our kids are completing three years. To all the new October moms, welcome, and it really does get better.

godsgirltmm-the things we have to go through to make us stronger. My son left today, just got the call from the airport. If all goes well, I should hear the I'm hear in the wee small hours. Staying busy is good. My youngest is doing his best~ he informed me tonight that he needs a tarzan costume by Friday for the pep rally (I did take today off and could've handled that one) Busy is good, and so is the great support here :)
Saw my daughter off yesterday. Was definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done. I can't tell you how many times today I thought I would text her to ask her a question only to realize she wouldn't get the text. BUT I know this is what's best for her and I am holding onto that. Things are busy at work so that is kinda good to keep my mind off her. Gonna start my letters tonight. We are from a small town - not much news to write to her about so I will have to get creative. Hope everyone has a great evening!
Oh Trisha - since my son leaves on 10/23 I was so thinking his PIR would maybe be on 12/21, but based on what you are saying it might not be until 12/30? I know that nothing is official until we get the letter, but so trying to figure out the holidays. Trying to plan a flight around the holidays is going to be soooo difficult!
JackFlash - funny about the adoption!
