Hi JackFlash - how are you holding up?  Glad the party was nice - we are having my sons party on the 14th.  Run2befree - my son also leaves on the 23rd!

Joining you on the journey. Just left meps- wasn't sure how long he would want me to stay but (as you all are mentioning) there was a look in his eyes that said he was ready to take the next step. I can't wait for all of the next stages- I can predict my phone will never leave my side :)

My son's ship date got moved up 6 days to October 23rd. I must admit that I did not see that one coming.  3 weeks from today ..... so much to do and say... I'm going to be a mess  I'm afraid.

Had the big party last night. I admit I got choked up seeing all his friends, family, neighbors and even some former teachers show up to see him off. Plenty of hugs that will last him through these next months.... It's his hugs we will all be missing most.

Spent majority of morning at SD MEPS. Son scheduled to leave today, Oct 1, but now first thing in morning. Very bittersweet experience seeing my son swear in. We've had some hard times the past year and always worried but finally had to let go. I love him and am proud that he now has goals. He is truly excited as is his family.

Well today was our ship day! My daughter, Tiffany, was so excited. Of course I am so proud of her. I was so amazed that she had no fear or worries in her eyes. She flew out of Memphis and just arrived in Chicago with no problems. Next stop....Great Lakes. This is going to be tough without her!

Good Morning all!  Well this is our month now!  October seemed so far away when my son signed his contract on January 26th, but wow - it's really here.  I'll be thinking of everyone as our kids start shipping out each day - mine leaves on 10/23.  Stay strong and stay proud.  Hooyah and hugs to everyone!
