My son was slated to go Oct 30. Yesterday we got the call to say he got moved up and will now ship on Oct 4th! Next week! Now we'll rush together a send off party for Monday or Tuesday I guess-- Yikes! I'm not ready for any of this!!!

I can't believe in 3 days I will be watching my baby girl leave for boot camp! The reality is starting to set in and I feel the tears building. Such a strange mix of emotions...proud, sad, excited, scared. Glad to have this place to come and share and know that everyone understands exactly how I am feeling. It's gonna be a tough week for all of us who have recruits shipping out this week. Somehow I don't think the reality will actually hit me until after she leaves.

My daughter leaves for bootcamp on October 1. While I am very proud of her, I'm also a mess thinking about what life will be like without her around.  She is really excited and finally admitted maybe a little nervous. I'm not really sure what to say to her... other than to give her encouraging words.  I can tell this is going to be a tough weekend!

My boyfriend leaves October 29, he has exactly 32 days life and I haven been getting really emotional at the smallest things, I must admit I'm ready for him to go just so I can get this whole process over with. His birthday is tomorrow and im going to try my best not to break down. My college that I attend has been really supportive.

I've been trying not to cry in front of him, but it's hard. I am so proud and will miss him so much! We've been packing up his room. He leaves Columbia,MO on October 1st.

My son leaves one week from tomorrow.  I am a mess.  I also am starting a new job tomorrow.  My timing stinks!!  I don't want to leave him here his last week at home alone.  But I have no choice in the matter right now and it will actually probably be for the bet.  But I cannot stop the tears as of this weekend.  It's bad.  I just am not sure how to stop them.

Hello everyone, I'm new here as you can probably tell. My son Riley leaves for Great Lakes on October 4. Anyone out there leaving the same date. I seem to cry a lot these days. Just reading the posts on this site turns me to mush.
