Hello!
We will be looking for the mom/wife/GF etc. who will be interested in creating the 01/06/2012 IPIR group.
Probably someone who's recruit is arriving at RTC between 10/31 – 11/28. Ladies, if it is something you think you'd be interested in...Friend me and send me a message. We will hold off on forming the PIR group for this date until Monday or Tuesday. RTC updates its website on Mondays usually.
Please remember that when I post dates of when your SR may PIR...it is not exact. I am basing it on the earliest reports and making an "educated" guess on the cutoff date for a TG. BC can be anywhere from 7.5 to 9 weeks...this TG will be 10 because of the holidays. It is also possible for recruits to arrive in the same week…or day…but have different PIR dates. Your recruiter may have your recruit’s ship/division as early as 72 hours after arriving at BC. I will take this ship/div # for the purpose of starting a PIR group BUT please wait for the form letter that your recruit will send home to address your mail and send it. The address your recruiter gets oftentimes is incomplete or has too much information that is not necessary for the address.
Thank You!
Holiday leave for Training Group 6 (those graduating Dec. 29) will begin at 1600 (4 p.m.) Dec. 29 and expire at 2359 (11:59 p.m.) Jan. 8. All recruits will depart RTC that same day, whether they are staying at Great Lakes or going out of state for A School. Recruits graduating Dec. 29 will have three options following graduation:
1) Not request leave and go directly to their A School as planned, departing from RTC.
2) They may have someone pick them up and stay within 75 miles of the base. Airline tickets will be issued from Great Lakes to their next command where their A School is located. There will be no reimbursement for local transporation. So, if they go somewhere within 75 miles of the base, they must pay for their own transportation to return to Great Lakes.
3) They depart from RTC and go on leave out of the area. They will do so at their own expense. They are responsible for getting to their A School at their own expense. Once they are at A School, they can then file for a travel claim. They will only receive travel pay at the government rate for what the flight would have cost to ship them from Great Lakes to their A School. So, they are paying for their own flight home and will only receive reimbursement for the flight from home to their A School, and that reimbursement will only be equaled to the cost of what it would cost to fly from Great Lakes to their next command. Should a recruit not graduate for any reason, the command will not reimburse any travel costs.Recruits will be instructed and given the opportunity to purchase their own airline tickets if they choose to go home. Please coordinate/communicate with your recruit if you are going to be purchasing their airline tickets for them. They will instruct you where you will need to send their itineraries here at RTC.

Holidays during basic training
QUESTION - my son will be in bootcamp during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Will he have any off-base liberty? Will training be longer?
U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command
The only recruits who will be granted off-base liberty for the holidays are those recruits who are eligible for the Adopt-A-Sailor programs held on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Families will have the opportunity to pick up their recruits in the morning, stay within 50 miles of the base, and return them in the evening.
Otherwise, it's business as usual in boot camp and the recruits will be on holiday routine from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on both holidays.
Actually...sorry... there is NO "standdown" for RTC...confused that with "A" schools.
Here is the confirm from RTC website for the 12/16/2011 PIR group:
TG 05 — 05 Divisions (017–020 & 905) Graduate Dec. 16, 2011
I have reports of a 021 division already confirmed so that would be the next PIR group...still waiting for response from PAO.
RTC website will post the actual TG (Training Group) with the corresponding Divisions on Monday of next week for this PIR date. I will then add that to the title of the group.
Once you get your form letter then you will know the actual Ship/Div that your SR (Seaman Recruit) is in. Their PIR date will be in the letter as well as the correct address for writing to them. There is also other info in there and a brochure for travel.
I suggest joining the group so you can start getting info...if for some reason it is not your PIR date switching to another group is no problem.
These are the current PIR groups:
PIR 12/16/2011 (WIll be updated as soon as more info is available)
PIR: Dec 2. 2011 TG 03 - 11 Divisions (009–016, 802, 803 & 903)PIR: Nov 23, 2011 TG 02 - 4 Divisions (007–008, 801 & 902) note it's Wednesday
