I'm going to post something in the PIR 12/2 discussion about this.... Yeah!  We all need to be able to find each other at PIR!!

Kristie - I agree!  Let's come up with something like that so we can all find each other and have something to remember this awesome experience!! What do ya'll think??

I love that idea. Although I have never made a scarf or anything like it I am willing to give it a try. It will keep my mind in a good place while waiting for Dec to get here. All the moms and significant others of SR's graduating on Dec 2 let's do something to show our support not only for our sailors but for our Navy family.

FireTeamLeaderWife - My SR arrived GL  yesterday, I will be happy to create or help with whatever PIR date - not sure how good you have to be at using this site as I am still trying to figure it out!

Repost.

I have one mom interested but will take a few more just in case. Some of you have said you would like to join the group...please make sure you indicate that you are interested in forming the group if that is the case.

Hello!

We will be looking for the mom/wife/GF etc. who will be interested in creating the 12/16/2011 IPIR group.

Probably someone who's recruit is arriving at RTC between 10/23 – 10/27 to be on the safe side. So ladies, if it is something you think you'd be interested in...Friend me and send me a message.

Please remember that when I post dates of when your SR may PIR...it is not exact. I am basing it on the earliest reports and making an "educated" guess on the cutoff date for a TG. BC can be anywhere from 7.5 to 9 weeks. Your recruiter may have your recruit’s ship/division as early as 72 hours after arriving at BC. I will take this ship/div # for the purpose of starting a PIR group BUT please wait for the form letter that your recruit will send home to address your mail and send it. The address your recruiter gets oftentimes is incomplete or has too much information that is not necessary for the address.

We will probably form the group more near the end of next week…thank you for your patience.

@ maja/ship09 div 16 you are definitely right I do feel so proud that she was chosen and for the decisions she has made. Thank you for the support I know in the weeks to come I will need it for sure.

@Gcjp.  I was exactly where you are now 2 1/2 weeks ago.  My daughter is my only child.  She was excited and the day before she took her 2nd oath...I was a wreck.  Literally, sick to my stomach.  My face had broke out and I had this thing growing on my lip.  Yep, I  was looking good!  Then, watching her take the oath, well, lets just say it was a good thing I was wearing a t-shirt because I would've popped all the buttons off my blouse bursting w/pride!  And that feeling hasn't changed.  Sure, I'm terribly lonely for her but I feel so priveleged to be the Mom of such an extraordinary person. One of the officers at our MEPS station told my husband and I that the Navy and Marines were "full" and the Army was taking "very few".  Meaning, they were being very selective as to who was being chosen as recruits.  That says alot about our children's character.  Out of all the possible "applicants," our children were chosen. Wow!  You're right, it is hard to let them go.  But you'll be fine.  With the support of our Navy 4 Mom's family, there isn't much we aren't going to be able to tackle.

Can't wait to meet all of you!  There was a time when I hadn't even planned on attending PIR.  Shame on me!  Now, I'm so looking forward to spending time with all of you and of course, my girl!  Don't even care if it's just a couple of hours, it will be a couple of the best hours of my life!

So tomorrow is the day my daughter leaves for MEPs. Then Wednesday morning takes her oath and leaves for bootcamp. She's so excited and Im so nervous. She's my only child and it's going to be hard.
