Yep! Today is the day I give my son his wings( or floaties)! I am so very proud if him. I am not sure what I am feeling... Not really sad just a weird anxious- memory- filled appreciation for what is happening. I sure it will hit me in a day or so when I want to call or text him and... I can't , but I know is in the best hands! Good luck to all the moms, dads, gf, bf and friends of those leaving today and tomorrow. See you in 8 weeks or so! Go Get'em SR's! We are PROUD of you!!!!

Christine, Jason's Mom - thanks so much for what you wrote here.  You don't know how much it means to me and others here as well that this is all new too.  I am having a hard time dealing with my son being gone.  It's on my mind constantly and I cry alot.  I'm looking forward to this week because from what I am told by so many others, the letters should start coming this week and the first phone call too.  I sure hope so because this is the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with.  I know my son is being taken care of and I know he is becoming a wonderful, amazing man that I am very very proud of.  I can't wait to see him at PIR.

Hang in there to the moms that are letting their kids go this week. It is such an emotional time. This site has helped me so much with knowing I'm not the only mom out there missing our SR'S so much. I just keep thinking to myself this is only a temporary time and if my son can get through it so can I. New moms be patient. My son left Oct 6th and other then the standard form letter I haven't gotten anything from him yet. But thanks to another member I found out that this week should be a good one, letters should be coming and a phone call. Stay strong and proud!!

Kristie - you don't have to being staying at the Ramada to attend the meet and greet. It's for everyone.   We are staying at the Navy Lodge, but I've already told my husband that we are going to the meet and greet.  I am looking forward to meeting all the wonderful ladies that are helping me get through this.
