Hello!

We will be looking for the mom/wife/GF etc. who will be interested in creating the 12/16/2011 IPIR group.

Probably someone who's recruit is arriving at RTC between 10/23 – 10/27 to be on the safe side. So ladies, if it is something you think you'd be interested in...Friend me and send me a message.

Please remember that when I post dates of when your SR may PIR...it is not exact. I am basing it on the earliest reports and making an "educated" guess on the cutoff date for a TG. BC can be anywhere from 7.5 to 9 weeks. Your recruiter may have your recruit’s ship/division as early as 72 hours after arriving at BC. I will take this ship/div # for the purpose of starting a PIR group BUT please wait for the form letter that your recruit will send home to address your mail and send it. The address your recruiter gets oftentimes is incomplete or has too much information that is not necessary for the address.

We will probably form the group more near the end of next week…thank you for your patience.

Thank You!

Pentwater98 - Hope you have a good day today and get your letter!! My son leaves Sunday and I can't stop crying!! I dread these next few weeks but am trying to focus on changing the countdown to PIR instead of his leaving!! Sending you hugs!

lynn joe and geoffs mom -  I am in a much better place now. I was letting the fact that I had not received a real letter or phone call totally depress me. I was so depressed on Wednesday night I didn't attend a meeting for our high school booster club. Which is so not me, I am very involved with our high school. Last night I spent three hours at the high school doing fundraiser things with my 16 year old to raise money for his class. Being involved again last night has totally changed my out look. I AM BACK. Not that I don't miss my SR and think about him all the time, I am just dealing with it so much better. I will get a letter or phone call when I get. That is just my life now and I have to accept.  I know he is doing great and I just have to think about the PRIDE I have in him not the saddness of missing him.

Good morning Ladies!!!!  Well, I'm with all of your that are still waiting on the first phone call and first letter from your SR!  It's only been 2 weeks since he left, but it seems like a long time ago!  I miss him and hope the letters start coming soon.  I've written him a bunch so far.  I hope he's getting them.  I book our flights yesterday to go to PIR!!  I can't wait to see him and give him a great big hug!!

My son is leaving then too and I have another one at boot camp already! Although I don't have the "empty" nest due to a 18yold in college (commuting) , and 8 & 9 year old girls!

But I understand that "not dropping in"!! I am already missing my son who will be leaving..

Dawn in MI

My son leaves Monday then heads to GL on Tuesday. Wow it finally is here! I am getting as many hugs( with weird looks from him as I can). Not that I have not already had one son leave for BC. I am confident in this ones ability. It is just that he is the baby and this is just a weird empty nest thing for me. With both being military it is not like they can just come home, celebrate holidays together, drop in whenever, etc... I could not be more proud of my sons, but it is finally here and I am a little on the anxious/nervous side.

I have a question related to Thanksgiving and the Adopt a Solider program.  My son is in the division that will be able to participate in this.  I can not go visit with him for Thanksgiving (live in Texas) but I have my mom, sisters and brother that live only 3 hours away from there and if they can make it to go see him, how would I find out about places that they could go in the area near Great Lakes to take him and spend the day with him and have Thanksgiving meal?  Like I stated, they live 3 hours away so the rule about the SR's not being able to go more than 50 miles away limits them to not being able to take him to their home for the day.  Any suggestions?  I really hope they can make it to spend this day with him because he has never been away from me for the holidays so I really would like it if he could at least be with some of his family.
