Hi,
First I want to say I am so glad I found this site. Have learned ALOT over the last few days and it helps to ease the anxiety (at least a little) knowing some of what my son will be experiencing. Peggy(michael's mom), my son also leaves on Oct 4th and will be in the nuke program. I too am hoping he will get a job this summer...

Geoff is sure tall and handson. Bobby is in Ships Swimmer Search and Rescue School in Jacksonville. He should be graduating on his birthday, he's gonna be 21. The boys have been in the navy almost 18 months now, can you believe it?

Welcome to our group. I very happy that both you and your son are excited to be joining the Navy. Enjoy the adventure and give your son a big "thank you" hug from me.
Gen
Kendra-
Bobby was in G/L this time last year, and they a lot of bad weather then. He's in Jacksonville right now, going to Search and Rescue School. He is so lucky to be out the bad stuff.
Here in Central Cal the sun has been out every day since Friday, and it has felt so good, much better than our wonderful Tule Fog.

LOL, can't say I miss those Texas Ice Storms, but I really am quite happy here in the Central California. It was sunny this afternoon and mid the 50's. That's a little cooler than normal, but it wasn't FOGGY, that will happen tomorrow.
Bobby should be heading for Rescue Swimmer School at the end of this week, he thinks. We shall see. That school is in Jacksonville, Fl, lucky boy!
Gen
Lynn and Kendra--
Bobby passed the swim test on Monday, he is now a Swimmer 2nd class. All those months on sitting in the hot sun, or freezing cold during water polo and swim season has paid off. I',m just a little bit proud of him.
Christine-
All of us moms, know that empty house feeling, having my son home for the 9 days was great, especially since he a just returned from a 7 month deloyment on his ship.
Keep us posted on your boy, especially when he deploys, you'll need us a lot then.
Miamishark-
Welcome to the group.
