Bethin NY, thanks for your support.  I'm excited for him, but am not enjoying the roller-coaster ride my emotions are giving me!  Am trying to not make this all too dramatic ... !!

:) Aaronsmom - I'm @ the "anything that may even help a little -  I'll try it" place.  For us it's Wed/Thurs, but otherwise, I could have posted exactly what you wrote !

My mantra for the next couple days :  "Keep Calm. Love a Sailor".  The Boy & his girlfriend say it all the time, it may just work for me too :)

Oh me too ladies. Thank you so much for the support here. I too have had nothing on my mind for the last week but tues/wed. All of these emotions and now we are down to one more night at hone and day and a half. I am soo proud of him and that thought makes it a bit easier but... The anxious and nerves. Are taking over. Not sure how I'm going to do. As always he is calm as ever which helps. But also makes me worry. I can't believe this time is here and my baby boy is leaving the nest. this is so much harder that I ever imagined :(. Spending every moment with this kid. Havnt done much if housework or stuff line that. It'll be here. Hopeing the nxt weeks fly as quick as the last.

Joniana, cherish the days - they fly by.  We are taking our Boy to the recruiter on Wednesday to start his whole new life.... Hotel Wed night, MEPPS Thurs morning & airport after that.  The last 2 weeks have moved faster than anytime I can remember

Thanks Bethin, I had a guy at work tell me the same thing, that he distanced himself more and more when he graduated, he didnt go into the military either, but all the same. I get the separation thing, I just dont like it :) I have the day off that he goes, i know i will be a mess!! thank goodness for the support here!!!

How excited I was to read the comments just now from thorgirlt17, barefoot1, BethinNY, Blstz822 and Kurt's mom! I don't have anything else on my mind right now except next Tuesday and I am comforted knowing all of you are experiencing these fears and emotions with me. Thank you for sharing your heart! I have 2 children, a girl and a boy, I love them both equally, but it is true that mothers and sons sometiimes bond stronger that mothers and daughters, and girls bond closer with thier dads sometimes. i'm really close to both my kids but my son was the easy one and we've always understood each other, can almost finish each others sentences...........I will miss him so much! Thanks for sharing how special your children are and what they mean to you.  Our lives will never be the same when they leave, but we'll just work hard with what we are blessed with and adjust to the empty place in our hearts and homes.
