Congrats, Misty, on getting your first real call. It's awesome she is doing so well too!

Good Morning! I received my first REAL call yesterday!!! It started out kind of rough! She was crying...couldn't understand a word she was saying! Finally she calmed down & said "Im just so happy to hear your voice!" Whew a weight lifted off my shoulders! After that she was nothing but positive! Said she absolutely LOVES it! She was made the Recruit Religious Petty Officer for her Div.(I probably have that out of order! Im still trying to grasp Navy terms & talk) She is also the Asst. Recruit Physical Training Petty Officer! They took their first (again not sure of the letters) but Physical Training test & she passed with flying colors! Said she did 4 more each of the push-ups & sit-ups required of her just to make sure & finished the run number 7 out of both her Div & her brother Div (I think she said there were 140 or maybe it was 160...a little crackling on the phone!) Which to be honest Im not surprised! She is a runner! Would get up on the weekends to go run 5 miles for fun! She was on her HS track team & CC team, so running is her thing! I hope this finds you all well! Have a great day!

Navy/AirforceMom, I really appreciate all the words of encouragement. It's great getting words of wisdom from everyone that's been through this.

Good morning Milette-Seth's mom. I understand how you feel and are fortunate to have found this site before your SR goes off to BC. It will be helpful for you to prepare. I didn't find it until a few weeks ago, in fact my husband is the one who found it for me. You never quite know how it feels until your child is the one going off to BC. Then you understand and your heart changes.

Hello ALL! I haven't posted on here in a long while but it great to know you all found our Ohio group. We have a group on Facebook Ohio Navy Moms. We try to gather as we can.

Some of you newbies may find a local Blue Star Mothers group a great source of support also. Those in the northern part of Ohio has a couple of options I belong to the group in Fairview Park Ohio Chapter 26. If you. Would like more information Please send me a message. Our meeting is the 4th Monday of the months and often the 2nd Monday of the month we gather for craft night or box packing.
My prayers are with all of you while you ride the Navy ride. Hang on for the ups and downs but know they are doing what they feel is the right path for them.

thank you Jodi. I will definately join the boot camp for moms. isn't this just like giving birth? you feel like your the only one going thru it but it's been happening since forever

Machel and Milette welcome to the group. Make sure that you join Boot Camp Moms.  It will become your lifeline. Once you have his division number join that group as well. Usually when one mom gets a letter she lets everyone else know so that you can be looking out for it. My son's division wasn't sending out letters when everyone else was. If it weren't for other moms in his division I would have been going NUTS but knowing that no one else was getting anything really lowered the stress level lol.  It's normal to cry and every mom on here can relate (although you will find a lot of non military moms can't). Good luck. You will survive this and you will be totally amazed at the remarkable young sailors you will meet at their PIR.
