New Navy Mom here...he leaves for BC next Wed. Just took his ASVAB test Monday and I'm freaking out with only having a week to let it sink in :-( I start crying just thinking about not being able to pick up the phone and talk whenever I feel like it...
Good morning Ohio moms. My SR shipped out 9/3 HER PIR is 11/1. Haven't received a phone call since a week ago Wednesday and no letter in 2-weeks. Anxiously waiting to hear from her.
Thanks everyone!
Congratulations BlueRockSailorMom!!!! Awesome...

woo hoo, my nuke sailor passed his oral boards today!
I would love to walk in a parade to represent our children. How can we find out about this type of event? Thank you for your responses. I don't fear the word "deployment" so much now. (smiles) I am thankful to be on here with all of you and I am looking forward to getting to know you.
ktssong, it was wonderful of you to plan the get together and so happy that you had an opportunity to help someone's mom. Hopefully she will join N4M and get some additonal support.
My son is also deployed right now and not in a war zone either. He is a Seabee. Last year he was deployed and it was in Afghan.
Some of us walked in a parade this past Saturday. It was great to see other moms. We made posters with photo of our sons and daughters serving and had them supported in the back of a truck that was decorated with lots of little American flags around them and then the American and Navy flag on the back of it. We passed out candy and NavyforMom brochures. We were approached and got to encourage a mom who hadn't seen her son for two years that was out on a ship. It felt good to encourage her. There was a young Boy Scout that stood at attention and saluted as our truck went by. It was very moving to see his respect for those serving and our flags. Thank you for all that showed up. Was great to get together with other moms that love and miss their kids like I do. Love you all.
