Hello, I am a mother of a Seabee. Not in D.C. Praying for the victims of D.C.
Thank you for the welcome PattiP, I appreciate it. I have a question. When someone says "deploy" does that mean they go into a war zone? I hate that word it freaks me out. and I just wish I could talk to my son. Prayers for all the families of those in Washington.
Hi moms, I am in Cleveland Heights, my son is on the U.S.S. George Washington and stationed in Japan. He has been in the Navy for a year and will be in Japan for three years. It is good to know that there are moms here in Ohio doing thte same thing and feeling the same way that I am. I hope to get to know all of you.
Thanks ladies for the nice welcome. It's nice to have a support system and know moms that are going through the same thing and can answer questions or have advice! :)
Hi Jodi-alumniShip4,div818... not sure where my son is headed after Groton. I talked to him last night. I knew he would be there at least 9 months. He told me next year around this time he will get his first sub duty. He loves it in Groton. He was in Goose Creek South Carolina for a year. He doesn't like warm weather all that much but, I loved it down there ( I visited a few times). He really likes Connecticut and likes what he is getting into. I live near Rock Creek. South ashtabula county. we dont live that far away from each other. I'll check out the facebook page too. :)
Hi ladies, I am in Canton. My kiddo is deployed right now. She may be home some time next summer from deployment. Up in the air right now.
Just to let you all know, we also have a FB page that is pretty active. It is Ohio Navy Families. Today we were discussing a get together. If anyone would be interested, we are looking at a restaurant in Kent. Not set up with date and time yet, but would love to see as many as can get there. We all need each other to lean on during BC and well after.
Hi gabrielsmomma. Lucky you that your son is heading East. My son is in JAX right now but is supposed to head to San Diego in February. Maybe they are switching places haha.
Hi Shannon! I am located in Brook Park. My Sailor Son is currently stationed in San Diego. He's to transfer to the East Coast early next year. Pretty excited about that. Congrats on your Sailor Son's upcoming "A" School completion.
Welcome Shannon. My "son" (he's actually my son's best friend) was at Groton for sub school and is now in Norfolk. Where is your son headed after A school? I live near the old Geauga Lake Park if you are familiar with that. There is a group of Northeast Ohio moms on FB too.
