OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

Hi - i might be a little premature joining this group as my son doesn't leave for boot camp till July 2017. Want to gain as much info as I can on do's and don'ts while he's there & attending A school.

ProudMomGCOH - Welcome to the Navy world!  My son's PIR was in May of 2012.  PIR is such an awesome ceremony - you will be so proud of your SR -  Enjoy!

My sailor is now stationed in Norfolk, VA - after a year in Japan and the trip half way around the world from Japan to Norfolk.  He's been to Singapore, S. Korea, Guam, Australia, Lima Peru, somewhere in Chile, & Rio deJenero....places I only see on tv!

Hope your sailor has a good experience!

(p.s. there are lots of mom groups on Facebook - all the ships have pages....)

My DS PIR was almost 8 years ago. Enjoy your trip. The ceremony is awesome. Congrats to you sailor!
