We are paralyzed here in Western NC as well. Still no school 4 days in a row and I doubt they go tomorrow but we are hoping for at least a late start day tomorrow. I don't know the hotels there but I would check with the Navy Lodge. They seem to have the best rates other than the Gateway Inn. If you stay at the Gateway Inn you have to have military ID so if you don't have it he will have to check you into the room. Maybe some others on here have more info and also check with the Goose Creek A-school page if there is one I am sure those moms would have some info.

I'm back!  Sorry I've been out of touch, but there's been a lot going on!  Does anyone have any information about graduation at Goose Creek on Feb. 4th?  I need hotel information.  My son says he's getting it for me but hasn't yet.

On another note, we got 8 inches of snow here in Hoschton, GA on Sunday night.  Of course, the northern half of GA is paralyzed!  But it's beginning to thaw!

lol Ruthann, I bet you did. We got a foot of snow and my sailor didn't get any in VA. She was not happy, she loves the snow and said she missed working in her snow globe lol. She was a snowboard instructor at a local resort and they were always making snow.  I really really want to come there for a visit, soooo bad you have no idea.

I am all for going to Boston, or near there lol. I have always wanted to go there and I am pretty sure Ruthann has an extra room or 2 since she has 2 sailors, lol. Maybe we could change one into a craft room for her lol. Look out Ruthann, we are coming for a visit :) lol

That would be so awesome Ruthann, A sash sister extravaganza lol.We should have a huge NAVY Scrapbook crop. We could meet somewhere in the middle, everyone bring all their pics. Those of us who can scrapbook could help those who can't and we could all leave with not only a scrapbook but a whole bunch of memories of our sash sister reunion :) That would be so much fun.

We are getting ready for a huge winter storm tonight and tomorrow. We are supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow and then ice on top of that. May not sound like much to some of you but for here in the south it is a lot. And since we live within walking distance of the local grocery store you can guess what that means for my 17yr old son who works there. Yep lots of bagging and shoveling snow. I hope you all have a great week :)

Lala...I would love the directions to the box!  Cute!  I go to 2 weekend crops a year...1 in September and 1 in November...I have the curse of more socializing than scrapin but I have a blast!  I don't tend to make resolutions, but getting a little caught up on my albums is a priority!  I've been organizing a lot the past couple weeks as we just had a new cabinet built in the house and I now have tons of room for my stuff!!!!!

My sailor's fiance and I are planning a Thelma and Louise trip cross country from So. Cal to Florida to drive his truck to him!!!  30 hours of driving but we are really excited to do it!!!!!

I did a scrapbook in a box for my sailor and thought I would share a couple of pics, of course there are a lot more flaps with pics than you see here but it turned out really cool. If anyone would like a copy of the directions on how to make the box just let me know. :)

Before I had all these neat little scrapbook tools I use to print letter or phrases on my computer and printer, using outline or coloring book style, and would print them right onto the card stock and then cut them out. Sometimes I glued those onto another color and then cut around the edges of that to make a shadow look. Then I did the same thing with the Sizzix and now I use the Cricut, but even if you don't have the more expensive tools you cans till get the same effect. I am getting ready to start my sailors scrapbook as well. I already did a couple of pages but those were to put in a scrapbook of grand kids I did for my parents. I will see if I can post a few pics on here and the scrapbook crops are great. Many of them are free and you get to use all their nifty tools for free as well. We have one here at a local elem. school every month. It is awesome and you get to see so many different people work and "steal" their ideas lol.  They used to have this awesome crop in Gatlinburg TN. They provided the hotel, most of your food, all the materials to do like 12 pages and you made the pages that were ready for you to add pics. It was less than $200 for 3 or 4 days and included everything. I really wish they would have them again. I would be digging change from every crevice in my house to go to that lol. Wouldn't it be amazing if there was one that we could all get to somehow that was Navy themed? A dream come true:)

Hi Teachertoo!  I LOVE scrapbooking...in fact, I am going to a 6 hour get together at our local shop tonight with 5 friends...look into those at your local shop...lots of fun and gets the motivation going.

Regarding the printing and labeling, I am big into vellum paper (sheer, almost see thru paper) that I use in my computer.  I "journal" or print out a headline that I like in the color and script that I like, then print it out.  My biggest challenge has been what adhesive to use to put it on the page.  I have found a couple that I like...a little package called "Glue Dots" for vellum is my absolute favorite but hard to find! I'll find it on line and buy a bunch! Some of the others leave a residue that makes it look dirty so ask around to what others like, but I truly believe vellum paper is your absolute best option....also, don't forget part of scrapbooking is using your own handwriting so others can look at it years from now!  I haven't started my sailors book yet...darn, I just finished my daughter's wedding album a couple months ago and she's been married 7 years!
