Hi Ruthann, that is awesome to have them both home for Christmas. And to get the pictures is great. I can't wait to see them. I miss talking to you and I hope you are doing well.

If anyone in our group is making a scrapbook please let me know. I have some cool stuff for Navy scrapbooks. Love all of you and miss you bunches.

I love that too. When my daughter was young I would say she was 12 going on 30 and when she was 18 I would say she's 18 going on 12 lol. Someday maybe her 2 ages will meet happily in the same year.

I love the expression Big Cheese Smile.  Makes me smile, too.  18 going on 40 is funny, too.  I do like that my son is more like 19 going on 25 or so.

Just learned today that my son's A school grad date is January 28.  We won't make that one, though.  Since we just saw him for the holiday, we're holding off for his power school graduation, which will be 6 months+ after that.

ahhh...its so good to hear how happy YOU are too that he is doing well and is happy.  That is the bottom line for us, right?  We just want to see our kids happy and secure!  You certainly have raised this young man well, to remember to call home, lol.  I am truly in awe of  you and all of you mothers who have these young (kids) who make this decision to enter the military  and move along to follow their lives, while so many other kids are still trying to figure themselves out!  It really speaks volumes for the kind of people you are and the lessons you have passed along to your kids...18 and going on 40....part genes...part environment, love to see your happiness!

ahhhh, congratulations Joella....I have been patiently waiting for this good news, lol.  I mean, your (now fiance) always "appeared" to me, that he had it all together, marrying you confirms it!  Very happy for you both.  I would suggest to have him put in for this time off right around a holiday, for me, it was Memorial Day weekend.  We flew to connecticut (from Pensacola) the start of the memorial day weekend, we got married that sunday (was easier on all of us on a sunday) and drove back to Pensacola, stopping at fun places along the way and that was our "honeymoon"...anyway, it can work, but research this part starting tomorrow and just plan around what Dustin can do...flexibility is key, lol.

Congratulations again!!  ( and welcome to the Navy, lol)

Wow, congrats to you!  Seems I'm hearing wedding bells a lot.  A lot of the nukes have either gotten engaged or married, too.  My son isn't one of them--his focus now is on his studies, which is just fine with me, since he just turned 19.

Missing him again already, and it's only been a little over 24 hours!

Congrats Joella, I am so happy for you. I have been thinking about you a lot. Anytime you are going to VA, even if it is just to visit, just let me know. My sailor will have her own apartment within a month and if you need a place to crash I am sure she wouldn't mind. You knows maybe you and Hannah would be there at the same time. I know she is planning on visiting there asap. :)

Thanks everyone. Yes Allyson it's gonna be wedding thoughts in my head constantly. Lol. I just don't know how to plan a wedding and have him be able to be there for it! He found out that he gets a 10 day leave to get married but what if the date we pick is when he gets deployed? I don't know. We'll see what happens. And yes Rorysmom, I would most likely be moving to Virginia. I want to see how his first deployment goes before I move out there though.
