Proud mom that is a great idea. We will have to do that too. Skype is so cool. My sailor turned 21 this month too. Her birthday was on the 1st. I called a bakery and had a yummy cake baked for her and sent to her. Her class mates in c-school were very appreciative. lol.
Love the song Lala...never had heard it before...tears in my eyes...but it sure doesn't take much when it comes to our sailors!
HiAll...My sailor is HOME! Got him at LAX at 2:15 am and then home by 4 am. Had to be up at 6:30 for work so I'm running on adrenaline right now! 4 1/2 hours total sleep in 40 hours is not something I do very often!
My thoughts and prayers have been hoping all of your families make it to where they need to be with all this crazy weather we are having!
Love to you all!
Lala-Thanks my sailor is funny about some things. He doesn't want to get into trouble for doing anything wrong. He picked Washington dc and Jacksonville, Fl on his dream list. It would be great if he got Washington DC, my little brother is in the army intellegence there. He told us wherever he gets stationed at is where he is getting married at also. So looking forward into knowing where he is going.
Heard anything about your sailor coming home for xmas yet? Is she getting to see her hubby right now? I hope all of her dreams come true for xmas.
my address is 2306 Karen St. Vandalia, il 62471. I would also like to send a card to you ladies in our PIR group. We made it through a rough time together, just like our sailors did. You moms are my friends, please send me your addresses.
I am not 100% sure but I think the NEX has a online store. I think you have to have military ID to access it but you can get your son to go to it for you when he gets home. Unless it is a Christmas surprise. Then you could always say it is for you lol.
Lynne-I loved the story. Your sailor is awesome. I have a 10 year old that we adopted and I'm trying to teach him that but for some reason he just don't get it yet.
I hope all of our sailors have a great Christmas. Mine land tomorrow at st. louis airport at 9:30 am. I will be so glad to spend 2 weeks with him.
Does anyone know where I can buy Navy Hoodies on the net? My sailor forgot to buy when he went to the NEX. I want good quality ones and not cheap junkie ones.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.
Merry Christmas Oreo Moms. It has been a while. I hope everyone gets a chance to see..skype..or talk with their sailor during the holidays. As I post this Chris is on his way to the airport to come home for the first time since leaving for GL in May.GL does a 2 week stand down for the holidays. So it is 19* in Chicago right now and will be 55* in ATL when he lands. (Do I hear a heat wave)
