Hi, back from the beach. We had a terrific time. Didn't want to ever leave. My sailor is doing great, just wants to know his duty station..He is really nervious about that.
I did hug alot of sailors I told them it was from their moms, and I thanked them for doing a awesome job. I went to Corry also. I missed the Blue Angels show, just wanted to spend time with my sailor. We stayed in an awesome condo on the beach and had a great time.
I kept telling my sailor about all of us still on here from his PIR and he was asking me sailors names, well I was giving him first names, of course he didnt know first names just last name. It was kind of funny.
Love to you all.

My sailor said to me recently "mom, do you realized I haven't had a home-cooked meal since May? They do love our cooking, don't they. He has already requested one of my pumpkin rolls to take back with him on the plane.
Lala, I thought I was "ready" to have an empty nest, but after having kids in my home for 30 years straight, I just didn't realize the effect it would have on me! I totally understand!

Stacoul- whatever gave you the idea that any of our sailors would want home cooked meals? lol. Every time my sailor calls she asks if we can have this and can we have that, or are you making such and such for Thanksgiving lol. I am seriously thinking about putting my Christmas Tree up this weekend lol. Now don't think I am crazy but I know my sailor is getting to come home for Thanksgiving but we don't know if she will get to come home for Christmas. So just in case she doesn't I am thinking it would be good to have it up for Thanksgiving, then we can do our annual tradition of shopping on Black Friday and come back and wrap the gifts and instead of sticking them in the closet we can put them under the tree. :-) My oldest son is coming home tomorrow. He lives in Charlotte but leaves on Thursday for a new winter job at a resort in CO. He won't get to be here for Thanksgiving or Christmas :-( so we are having Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow evening. Every time I think about my youngest, who is 17 leaving home (he wants to join the Coastguard or Navy) I get tears in my eyes. I know they grow up and move on but I was hoping at least one of them would choose to live close by. :-(

Good morning, queens. Another leg in the oreo journey is almost over. My son graduates corps school this Friday and isn't due to report to Japan until mid December. If nothing changes between now and Friday, he can come home with us after grad. I feel like a giddy little kid about him being home for a while. I hope he plans on enjoying some home cooking!

In the Nuke world, all they do is study. During their A school, they arent doing anything truly classified, but they are training them with how to deal with the future when everything is classified and nothing leaves the building. If they start doing bad, they go back for hours and hours and hours of extra study time--and those hours are mandated. fun

Yup, rorysmom, our boys are in similar boats. [Groan! Sorry, couldn't resist. :) ] The nukes also are not allowed to take info out of the classrooms, so the studying is away from gaming temptation. I've been told that, during the week at least, it's classroom, study, eat, sleep. Extra study hours as needed, but not in their rooms. Not a great deal of free time. Sounds good to me.
