I guess I jumped the gun a bit joining this group now since we're still in recruit format, but God willing my daughter will be a sailor before December. Nice to be here, tho. BTW A school is at Lackland.

Gee, rorysmom, you have another old, confused woman here, too! I'm still trying to get a handle on all of this Navy info.

Maybe that is what it was...he wasn't going to be thru A-school yet. So sorry for the wrong information...I have heard so many things and then those things have changed...I am an old, confused woman! I know he was really excited about it but there was a reason he couldn't do it..I thought it was the rank thing....he is an E3 but if he could just get into that darn A-school!

Thanks so much for all your prayers, We appreciate it so much.

My sailor got to work at the recruiters office for 5 days and it worked out great for her. She was and is only an E-2... Maybe it has to do with where they are, I have no idea. I just know that she was told you can only do it on your first leave (the one you get right after A-school)

Oh no Lala...such horrible news. I pray the recruit made it thru BS...I just can't imagine the emotions he is gong thru! I just don't have the words! I hope and pray strength for all our you!

My son moved down the street to Corry in P'cola week ago Monday...on hold for A school now...says could be a long wait...he expects to be in P'cola at least a year. His A & C schools are 210 classroom days. He wants to come home for Christmas so probably will...however, he was told he could work at the recruiters office for the 5 days and then was told that he had to be higher than the E3 that he is to do so, so I would have them verify those work credit days before getting their hopes up. It is still so confusing to hear one thing and then another...

I am so sorry, I hope he works it out so you can see him very soon.

Ya he knows that he can work at the recruiter's office and no. I don't have the means to fly back out there. I'm still working on paying off my last trip.

Is there anyway at all that you could go see him for the holidays? He will have the days off most likely. And make sure he knows that when he comes home for leave the first time he can work at the recruiters office for 5 days and those days won't count towards his leave. So he will be home for 10 days but only use 5 days leave. He does have to get the proper paperwork before he leaves A-school, have the recruiter fill it out and take it to his next school or base for it to count.
