Lala, Yes, I'm finally here. It's turned out to be a crazy day, but yes, I am now (finally!) the mother of a sailor!! Woo Hoo! He called this morning, in the 30-second window of time I had set the phone on my desk and walked 5 feet away, and then called my husband. Hubby thought he'd left a message, so didn't bother to call me, so I waited a while and then called him to find out the news. By then, I already knew from N4M that all in Div. 291, who he did BS with, had passed. So I wasn't absolutely nuts.

He then called me again at 4:30 with some details. He's already in THU and will have liberty tomorrow from 0800 to 2000, and maybe also Sunday. So, I got home at 6, grabbed the dogs to get them to the kennel by 7, just finished some dinner, and we'll need to get ready. We're leaving around 3:30 a.m. or so, so we can arrive at GL by 8:00, then we'll do whatever he wants to do all day Saturday.

Hi all :) It seems like there's alot of veteran moms here so I thought this would be a good place to get answers. Is it normal for the local recruiting station to call when the kids are in boot camp? Saw the number on caller ID and when I called back I can't get an answer or leave a message. Should I be concerned?

That is so cool Jessica. I think that is the same day my daughter will graduate as well. She is hoping to get her orders some time in the next few days.
