Hi Everyone! So much going on witheveryone! Trying to catch up on my sites here. Just got back lastnight from driving sailor's truck from So. Cal to him in Pensacola! His Fiance' and I took 3 days to drive and then 6 days with him! It was glorious! Perfect weather, got to meet some great sailors and visit the area. He made Petty Officer 3rd Class the week before we got there so much to celebrate! Perfect weather, Navy Lodge was newly refurbished and wonderful to stay at! Great food! Watched the Blue Angles practice right across the street where they are based. If you ever get a chance to visit the Navy Museum there...wonderful and NAS is beautiful.  Enjoyed visiting Corry where my son is stationed and at school also.  Hope everyone's week is wonderful and praying for Brian!

Hellos Sash Sistahs..... if any of you live in the VA Beach/Norfolk area. Or will be visiting there the last week of April there is a group of us planning on meeting one day for lunch (shooting for Thursday the 28th). I will be there that week for spring break. We would love to meet as many other moms/families etc as possible for lunch one day. If you have a sailor in that area and they could possibly join us that would be awesome. If you are in that area and would like to join us please let me know. Send me a private message with your name and number. We will keep the time and place in private messages as well. Thanks, Lora

Hi everyone! While I was surfing the web I came across this on one of those Q&As and thought I'd share.... a chuckle of the day:

How do you get in US Navy C school?

"Well most people use the door but a lot of people like me use the secret underground tunnles leading to the sub-basement. If that isn't your style i've heard of secret ventalation shafts that can get you to any part of the building."

I laughed so hard I almost choked on my cofee!

The chatline is working this morning, i don't know if it was down before.

Prayers for Brian, I know his family must be devastated by this news.

Incognito- I didn't realize Sarah was in Pensacola. Did she go straight there from bootcamp? Loran was on the chartered jet and was at NAS for A-school. It does sound like they were in on it together lol. Loran said the same thing about having a big wedding this summer. I say why spend all that money. Maybe a small ceremony outdoors with family and friends. They better hold onto every penny they get in case the government does shut down and they don't get paid!!!

Binkersmom, I am not sure about you state but in mine, my daughter was able to get a license on a dime (no wait time) why? Because she is "US Military".

Nobody has answered my question about the chat room. Unless its my computer on the fritz (for that feature) I"ll just be left to assume that since the US Navy in currently actively engaged, its best to shut down the chat room.

I was just browsing through some of the other groups and came upon this. Didnt know if we have anyone in the Atlanta area. God forbid should something of this sort happen to one of ours.

i am contacting you in behalf of Sailor Brian (PIR 9-24-2010 and his family.  Brian, MA Kings Bay was medevaced to Emory University Hospital with acute t-cell leukemia/lymphoma.  his mother AuxLady (Sharon) contacted me late last night.  Sharon can not be with Brian....she is home recuperating from an accident while delivering the mail. Brian's wife and infant daughter (weeks old), father, two brothers, sister in law have driven to Atlanta via rural PA and Kings Bay to be with him.  they are staying in a motel 9 miles from the hospital. i met Sharon through our PIR group 9-24-2010...truly a wonderful Navy mom! this all happened very quickly...Brian fell ill suddenly. i am posting every where for prayers, support and help for this family.

So far, Alex has told me that she hasnt told her parents yet so that's why they are waiting. Initially, it was they had a heck of a lot of trouble being able to get a marriage liscence. I think I may google just in case. They know we are coming down there over spring break. Oh good grief!
