Actually, I have three sons, and my middle son was in the Air Force. He did a tour in Iraq when we went to war with Saddam. He spent his 18th birthday just after war was declared. But yeah, pretty much, Navy is the family tradition with our family. lol Army? Uhhh "No green, just BLUE!" lol :)
Hi WackyWaveUSN! Wow a proud Navy family there, I guess if your son had come home and said he was joining the Army he may have had some problems...LOL. My son is in San Diego also on the USS Milius,
Hi everyone! I am new to the group. I'm an OS3's mom who is currently deployed. I'm not new to the Navy however. I'm a retired disabled navy veteran myself, and my father, sister, and boyfriend were all retired navy chiefs as well, so the Navy is anything but new to me. LOL I'm planning on going on the Tiger cruise at the end of September and was hoping to find other moms who are going to do the same. My son is on the USS Stockdale out of San Diego.
Forgot to mention...yes, I found the Nimitz group on here :) We are hoping that our son gets to join them on deployment, but it will depend how much longer they are out. We've all been watching this group and the Nimitz facebook group and my son is wishing he was already with them!
Debsproud: mom is good :) I'm actually happy he is on an aircraft carrier and I've never been to Washington state, so that will be fun to see. Excited for his adventure/career to begin!!
that's awesome! I guess they will be working together :) I will send you a private message, I would love to be able to give him your son's name.
He is really excited about the Nimitz. He had "wish listed" warmer climates, but he is excited about Washington and the beautiful country up there. We are all excited- his dad and I are looking forward to visiting there too, so much to see!
Lori, my son is in Nimitz. Welcome aboard. There's also a Nimitz page here on N4M, a very nice group of moms.
I've always wanted to visit Washington state! So glad he is excited! How's mom?
Our son got his orders...he will be aboard the USS Nimitz (home port is Everett, WA). Neither the type of ship or the port were on his wish list, but he is excited!
oh, and if he scheduled it, he should cancel it!!! (or reschedule it!!)
!!
