Thanks Mcmom - I'm slowly feeling my way through this.  Looking forward to the leave time, though he plans to do some travel depending on how much time he gets.  I'm sure I'll get a few days.  He has a sister in New York, an Uncle in LA and lots of family in Texas.  He's planning to take this opportunity to "see the world" seriously!  Starting with the USA.  Ha!

I'm pretty sure there is no B school.  The A stands for Apprentice as I recall.  I don't remember what the C in C school stands for .... I think that most of them do NOT attend C school, at least not at first.  My son went from A school to leave at home to his ship assignment.

Is there a "B" school?  All I have heard about is "A" school...now there's a "C" school?  I'm so confused.  Which might be the norm with my son in this job.  Ha!  He's doing great and I am super-duper proud of him!

Jamie: from what I have heard not all attend c-school but if they do need to attend C-school it will depend on where they are going to be stationed to and C-school is around 20 days.

Thank you Leese - do you know if they go to C school too?  and If so where?

Does anyone know how many weeks A School is?

Hi, all!  Last weekend was AWESOME!  I am so very proud of my son's decision to become a part of the Navy!  PIR was wonderful and the weekend with my son was a great memory.  We were able to go on base and check him in and out both Saturday and Sunday so it was nice to see where he will be living for several more weeks.  We met some of his buddies from boot camp that are staying at GL.  He loves the somewhat relaxed atmosphere and I love being able to talk/text with him daily.  He is in a bit of a holding pattern until a class fills up but he is hoping that within two weeks he will get started.  Thanks guys for your advise before graduation weekend.  Now to get through A-School and find out what is next!

Hey everyone, I was wondering what happens after A-School. My fiance, will be at Great Lakes, does he get to come home for a little while before going to his next station?

Catcat- thanks for asking. I wish I had good news but I don't. My daughter is still there. It has now been 10 months.
