Hehehe . . . reading about spending sprees and shaking my head!

My son was pretty good after PIR last year and deployed very soon after A-school. He was even fine during the first 7 or so liberty ports BUT on his last liberty before the end of a 7 month deployment in Palma, Spain he went through about $1500 in a few days . . . Navy Federal called the house to make sure that someone hadn't stolen his card!  ;-o

He still shakes his head and smiles when I mention it, guess he needed to blow off a little steam. Doesn't seem like he regrets it???

when they get out of RTC on their first liberty most all new Sailors spend all their money that they earn during RTC, yes Holding until they have enough OS to start classes. we had to had the rental agreement I.D and pass to the gate person we never had to leave it in the dash. Or maybe we were suppose to but nothing was ever said to us lol yes they do attend classes while in holding from 6-5pm and they still have to do watches ect.

Where do we get the gate pass?
Comment by Leese/K's OS Mom on January 18, 2012 at 10:44pm

we Did Dollar rent a car out of O'hare  but we got a SUV because we knew it was going to snow so with truck, insurance,Gps, and speed pass it cost us 400

But if we could go back we would have just got a small front wheel drive car and brought our own GPS but most deff get a car with at least front wheel drive in case it snows. like a Chevy malibu they are good with snow. when is your PIR?
