Hi Holly, I am from Western Pa. I am near Pittsburgh too. I live actually north of Pitts. I live just outside of Kittanning. Don't know if you ever heard of Dayton, Pa.

Marcy

I guess I should say my son has been in the Navy for 4yrs now. He will be getting out in 2013 and by then he will have been in for 6yrs. he is and E5 too. Congrat's to your son and you both.

Good evening Holly, I live in Somerset County.  My son joined the Navy in 09 and he is in Japan for 3 years...with 5 total.  He is an IT rate E5.

Hi Linda.  I live in Somerset County also.  My daughter joined in 13.  She found out yesterday she's being deployed.  It took until this afternoon for me to break and cry.

Hi Holly, My son is in A School in Texas, he has been there since the end of Oct. We live about 7 miles outside of Kitttanning.

Hi Holly,
I live north of the Burgh, in Crannberry Twp. My son is an ET2 on the USS Miami.

Holly, I'm from South Park, PA ~ Welcome! My son joined Feb 2010 and is on the USS Nimitz in Bremerton, WA.

Hi western PA girls! We live in the eastern part of PA south of Lancaster, but 3 of our 4 kids graduated from or are attending college north of Pittsburgh. One is finishing at Geneva and the other two at Grove City. We'll be out there next weekend to visit the girls, and everytime I drive through Ellwood City I wonder where you live Holly! It also reminds me of the kids' show Arthur because he "lives" in Ellwood City! =)

Our sailor is our oldest of four kids, is FC3 and just got orders for San Diego for CIWS C school, starting in March. He left for boot 12/12/10, was across the street for A school, and is really ready for some warm weather! If you ever have an event while I'm in western PA I'd love to meet you all. And if you ever come towards Lancaster or Philly, send me a message & I'll meet you for coffee or something!

Hi all, Im from Erie. My son has been in for 3 years now, after A school in Bioxi, he has been in San Diego last few years and loves it at North Island. He is now heading back to biloxi in March for 8 months and C school. He hopes to go back to San Diego afterwards....

We should plan a lunch or dinner to get everyone together

Hi I live inn Pittsburgh for the past 2 years.  We live right in the Strip but will be moving to the burbs this week.  Upper St.Clair.  My grandsons and son will be coming to live with us for awhile...a very long story.  Long story short...their Mom is no good.  So we needed a good school district and kids really can't live where I'm living right now.  My son is still in DEP and is scheduled to leave for boot camp on May 28th.  Did you hear about the murder about 2 or 3 nights ago.  The driver of an armored truck was shot by his partner and 2 million was stolen.  It happened right under the 31st bridge which I can see from my window and the strip is usually a pretty safe area.

Hi Holly, just saw your post!  I am up the Allegheny river in Springdale.  Our Sailor did his PIR in October 2009, spent until May 2011 at Nuclear Power school in Charleston.  He is now stationed at the Bangor Trident Sub Base west of Seattle WA and serves aboard the USS Jimmy Carter.  He is now an EM2.
