For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Need advice on sending phone and laptop to sailor
My son arrived at A School on Saturday. I need to ship him his cell phone and laptop. What is the best method? FedEx, UPS or USPS???

Hi GeauxTigers!! I hate I missed meeting you at the M&G last Thursday, but wasn't the entire weekend the Best Ever!!! I'm Still excited!!! And...So Happy to talk/text/Skype with him!!!
I just sent my son's laptop & accessories, laptop case, sweat shirts, T-shirts, and a few other items to him at NAS Pensacola today! I took everything to Mailbox, Etc & they had the perfect box for it. It was sent FedEx Ground (though I initially thought it was going USPS.) The total cost, including box, bubble wrap, and tax was $29.47. I was able to text him the Expected Arrival Date (this Friday) and the Tracking #.
While out & about today, I stopped by our neighborhood Post Office to pick up a few Flat Rate boxes in case I choose to package future items at home. It just so happened that the biggest Flat Rate box wouldn't have been big enough for what I sent today. Of course, I could have found some other box to use, but I decided on the easier, more convenient route for myself this time.
Hopefully, someone will come along and give better advice (which I'll be watching for) but I just wanted to share my experience! Also, to say....Congratulations to you & your SAILOR!!! So happy & proud of them All!!! :-)

Hi Dee! Yeah, I hated missing the M&G, but by the time we arrived at the hotel, we were all so dang tired.
I ended up sending my sailor his phone, laptop, ipad in a Large Flat Rate Box via USPS. Should arrive by Friday. (fingers crossed). he told me he couldn't have civilian clothes until they got to Phase 2. I told him there would be plenty of more boxes to come. LOL
So happy to see him on Friday. And happy to talk to him. He called me last night and the night before. Says he's having a good time and happy to be away from bootcamp. LOL
Congratulations to your SAILOR as well..So so proud we are! :)

My son is at Pensacola A school and I need to ship laptop etc. to him. Thanks for the information on this..will take into our local UPS in the morning. Any help on air fares? Thinking it is too much to fly him home for Christmas. He said he is just learning the routines there, so not sure. We will celebrate when he can make it home. He loves Pensacola.
