Thanks momofbp. My daughter doesn't even start until January officially, although there is much to do starting tomorrow. She was told at GL that she will have leave....then told maybe/maybe not/it depends. She's an IT and E3 so maybe there's something else going on with that. In any event, we'll take what comes. If she can't come here for awhile, I can go there. Patience is the key for sure!

Here is a cool link a friend sent me honoring all Armed Forces by the WVU Marching Band recently. Enjoy!

Thanks momofbp.....I'm anxiously awaiting her official address. I have things ready to ship out to her. We are also hoping she'll get some leave to come home for Christmas-ish. I heard new A-Schoolers fresh out of bootcamp have "phases" they must complete before being granted any leave. Is there any more information to that? I should know more after her meetings and such this week.  Really appreciate the support here....thanks!

Hello all, my daughter just PIR'd last week and arrived at Pensacola yesterday.

Does anyone know if the base closes down over Thanksgiving and if so what days? Also, if my son comes home for Christmas does he use his leave or are they given a certain number of days off without it going against their leave balance?

Is there a website for Pensacola NAS?  I want to go down there in Oct/Nov to visit my son and he mentioned staying right there on base.  I wanted to get more familiar with the base.
