Hi Greeneydnavymom,
My daughter is at A school at Ft Meade. she has only one roommate, although their room is set up for three people. They have a microwave and a full sized refrigerator and bathroom. There are common areas in the building as well with TV, pool table, computers, etc. It seems almost like a college dorm to me. Definitely a step up from boot camp!
Hello, my son just graduated from A school in Pensacola and will report to Ft. Meade at the end of the month. I am curious about the housing he will have there as a single enlisted member. Can anyone here provide any details?
ALmacomLL, welcome to the group! We are pretty quiet. Some of our Sailors are (or were) at Fort Meade for CT rates and others are there for other programs. What we all have in common is experience living in the area. Ask any questions you have, and I'm sure someone will do their best to help you.
Sigh...I'm back. Someone screwed up - BIG TIME - and deleted me. That means anything I ever posted here is gone. Period.
If I can fill in any gaps for you, please ask.
Hi,
Is there someone who has a Sailor who has been through ION that may be able to answer a few questions I have regarding orders, class schedule, etc? You can add me as a friend and PM me, if so. Thanks!
Zman'smom, I don't have personal experience with NIOC, but from what I can tell, it is on Fort Meade. Fort Meade is really huge; NSA is on Fort Meade! My son was there for DINFOS (Defense Information School). He really enjoyed his time there. Good luck to your son!
JackRussellMom, I think he can come home on weekends (lucky!) in Phase 3. My son spent weekends away when he was in Phase 3. I think he was able to use his laptop in Phase 2. How nice that you live so close!
