Back home now after a 10 days work vacation.  Spent 3 days at the beginning of the trip at Ft Meade visiting my son, meeting clockard and another navy mom who's son (CTR) is in Hawaii, then off to Colorado Springs to work conference.  I had lunch a NAVY mom there and we toured the Air Force Academy.  Yesterday on the way home, another mom met me at OHara airport for lunch.  Our sons went to boot camp together and her son is currently with the ceremonial guard in Washington.   At each of these meetings we were so excited to meet each other, not one photo was taken :(

When in Ft Meade, my son gave me a tour of NSA.  A lot of security to get on base and my son had to vouch for me - which I thought was funny.  It was great to see where he lives and meet some of his friends.

Thanks! I keep asking my sailor but he tells me it isn't posted yet. He'll be traveling down here to Florida so he wants to make sure he requests his leave right.

Well, thanks good to know that some have a room to themselves, my son was ok with the living situation until the day they moved the extra bed in LOL! He has now really been on base for the last few months (out training) so it has been bearable. The day he had to tell his roommate to take showers is the day he was over living with him LOL! I know my son is taking leave for Thanksgiving and Christmas but I am not sure for how long.

Has anyone heard when the Sailors will be allowed off for the Thanksgiving Holiday?  Is just on Thanksgiving itself and any additional days would need to be leave?

My son just moved off base and  when he first got there a year ago, he had a room to himself but they have now doubled everyone up so there are two to a room.

My son has had a room to himself since he arrived in the Spring. There was some talk on here about moving extra beds into the rooms earlier this summer.  My son says he never got an extra bed put in his room, so I suspect he will not be getting a roommate. He has his move off package submitted and I understand that he is nearing the bottom of the move out list.

My son's a CTR actually I have 2 Navy son's and both are CTR. My "new" Navy guy is finishing A school in Mid November and will then be going to FT Meade.I  Iive in Northern Connecticut. My husband lives in Northern VA about an hour or so from FT Meade.

Now for my barrack question. Do they have a room to themselves or have one or two roommates?
