Thank you both Susan R and BonnieRN... You made me laugh about the space. It sounds like there will be plenty. I wonder if they use the same dorms... students and stationed sailors. I'm looking forward to visiting the area at some point!

Hey MomAnt, my daughter just left FtMeade after 6 months in MC school. She lived in barracks and said space very limited but she was just home on leave between assignments, bringing everything with her and let me tell ya...if she had room for all that stuff then there is more room then they think. She had 1-2 roomies at any given time. She has fallen in love with the Baltimore /DC area for some reason. Lots to see and do.

Awesome! I really appreciate it clockard. Fingers crossed I won't cause too much sleep deprivation for you all. My son is a young one, we have no military experience, and it seems something new happens daily that sends Mom into a panic! LOL. How long has everyone here been part of the Navy family and/or at Ft. Meade? Any "tips" regarding Ft. Meade and life there would be welcome. :) Do all sailors stay in the same barracks? Are they mixed in with the Army? Do they have enough room for personal extras? Again... I can't thank you enough!  Thanks to Susan R for the link!!

Hi... new here. My son will be reporting to Ft Meade in May with a small group of HMs. They haven't had any luck making contact with a sponsor from there. I was hoping someone in this group might be able to point us in the right direction. Much thanks! :)

Does frocking mean when they complete the MC program?  Sorry to sound so uninformed.

We may be down there at the end of April for MC graduation, not exactly sure when yet.  I think that might be blossom time.  I'd like to go into DC, haven't been there in years.

Ahh, Kerry that makes sense. Thanks Susan I'll check that out. Yes Angie somewhat better. Going for a bunch of xrays today. Sill afraid to eat solid so my mush diet continues. My new favorite...mashed potatoes mixed in ckn noodle soup. Pathetic right. Lol. Is anyone thinking about going to dc for cherry blossom time? I'm seriously considering it would love to meet anyone.
