We were there in April for a tiger cruise on Aaron's sub the Columbia. It was great. We were suppose to be flying to Hawaii tomorrow :( to go on the Boxer for Tara's tiger cruise back to San DIego. We were all ready to go and we got notice two weeks ago that it had been cancelled. She was to be manning the rails while pulling in. What a kodak moment that would have been!!!
I'm just starting to getting over the shock!!!

Can't wait to get back there, maybe next year.

Pat, My daughter was on the Boxer that day. So you can tell Ashley you know someone that knows someone on the Boxer too! LOL! Can't wait till she pulls into San Diego from her long deployment.
My son should be pulling in sometime next week from a short underway. Just in time to see his sister leave. They can't seem to get their timing together.

Our son joined the Navy after graduating from college. He is a nuke, currently out on deployment, somewhere in the Pacific on a sub. We finally heard from him by phone. It was great to hear his voice. We saw him in Hawaii shortly before his deployment started. He would rather come home when he gets back - so it may be a year before we get back to HI. Expensive place to visit. I am making notes of all the recommendations for more affordable hotels and places to sight see and eat. But my husband sunburns easily and I hate to walk - there are only so many times you can drive around the island.
