Well, I think Diego Garcia has finally gotten their PS.  Don't know what kinda shape he is in after traveling for 30 hours but I'm sure he will come around after a few days... We haven't heard from him since he arrived there.  Hoping to soon.

I haven't heard how long he will be there.  He has enjoyed walking around looking at the ships and watching the planes..kind of nice knowing he is still in the states.  .I think he is a bit nervous but excited about his future post.  It is soooooo very far away.  But it'll be a great adventure

cheryllynn-proud mom of a sailor, that is great news. I do hope your son enjoys his duty station and I can't wait for my son to begin his. How long will he be in Norfolk. I hope he enjoys himself and take in the scenery while he is here.

My son will be in Diego Garcia, a small island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and they offer online classes.  I suggested he do as much as possible seeings he will not have much else to do there.  Get all the training he can when he can.  Take advantage of every opportunity.  I doesn't hurt to look into things.  I know while in bc  Jonathan had checked into  doing something else but at that time wasn't available.

We had a wonderful time over Christmas.  The extended stay was great.  Lots of fun.  He is now at Norfolk waiting for transport to his little paradise island....

Happy New Year everyone.

I think your daughter should do what makes her happy. If she is content on being a PS, then that's what she should do and perhaps cross train for something else. That is what I suggested to my son. Hope this helps

My daughter is supposed to head to Meridian after PIR in February ... what is everyone's feelings on suggesting that she try to change her rate while in boot camp?  Sounds like the PS rate is sketchy ...

OMG., J was able to fly out yesterday evening and arrived in Meridian without incident. He called this morning and trying to get settled in over there.

cheryllnn-proudmom of a sailor, well a few additional days with your sailor, not a bad thing! Enjoy your time with him!
