Good morning moms! (Maybe I should have said proud, but anxious moms.) I am so ready to hear something from my daughter. Has anyone received a call or a letter from their child yet? All I've had is the 'I'm here' call. I keep telling myself that no news is good news, but this is soooo hard. Everyone have a blessed day! Gloria

It must be hard. Thnking of you and hope that call comes soon!
I've not received a call either (other than the short one that was for additional info). It was difinitely good to hear her voice but I'm so ready to actually be able to talk and ask questions. Maybe we will hear from them by Wednesday. I've booked flight and hotel reservations. I've got a room at the Springhill Suites. Anyone else staying there?
Has anyone been looking at the Navy Recruit facebook page? Several moms of ship 03/div173 saw pics of their children on there. Looks like they got their first calls today too. Maybe we won't be too far behind. Here is link to facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand
gc - We are at Springhill Suites too!! Hoping for my call real soon too!
Good morning! Looking forward to tomorrow. That's when I'm expecting 'the call'! Don't forget to make your list of questions and address book and have them ready and beside the phone. 38 days and counting down!!
I just read about the Blue Candle event. You light a blue candle when you miss your sailor - including Boot Camp! I think I'll take my grand--daughter (my recruit's child) to Wal-Mart today and look for one. Seems like a sweet thing to do.
Sounds really nice :)
Yea!!! Lonnnnng call finally came this evening. My daughter sounded really good and still excited. So very glad that she is seeing this as an adventure and as a means to an end rather than a bad experience. She's been sick (ear infection) and got a little bummed up but is hanging in there. She really loves everyone in her division. Makes me feel proud and less worried. Can't wait for 36 more days!
Curious, what time or how long ago this evening did you get the call? We're really hoping for one!
CAB, my call came around 4:00 and she was able to talk about 45 minutes. Did you ever hear from your recruit?
He wrote me 2 seperate letters which we got today.. which I shared with her but still no phone call for us ):
