Good morning moms! (Maybe I should have said proud, but anxious moms.) I am so ready to hear something from my daughter. Has anyone received a call or a letter from their child yet? All I've had is the 'I'm here' call. I keep telling myself that no news is good news, but this is soooo hard. Everyone have a blessed day! Gloria

Six letters today! Woohoo what a great day! She did say that almost everyone has been sick. Guess that's to be expected with so many in tight quarters. She also said its been either cold or raining (or both) every day. But she said that it is a good experience - not as bad as she expected and that she is definitely not regretting her decision.
I got a nice letter from my son today. He said that he misses my stroganoff. :) He also informed me that he is an RPOC in the division and that he is meeting some really great people.
Thats awesome! I bet a lot of guys miss home cooking :)
I got our call from our daughter on Wednesday about 2:15pm. It lasted about 30 minutes and the only reason we ended it was that my daughter was afraid of getting yelled at for being on too long. She's been sick since week one and she's pretty miserable at the moment. She's afraid of missing anything and she's terrified of getting her PIR date moved back. She said that out of about 80 in the division, 14 have had their grad dates moved back for one reason or another (mostly health issues). She also said that at 19, she's one of the younger recruits but that there are few 18 year olds and one 34 year old.
Got our second letter on Thursday. Funny that it was much more upbeat than the phone call. She was trying so hard not to cry during the call that it broke my heart.
Glad to know that you heard from your daughter. I think the phone calls and letters can be bittersweet. While we want to hear from our SR, it is very emotional on both ends, especially if things aren't going well. My SR has been sick too and is concerned about getting set back because of it. While letters came yesterday and seemed more positive then the first letters, no phone call yet for us. Hang in there...I hear it gets better.
Still no call? That's too bad. Was hoping yall would hear something today. If letters are sounding better than the first ones maybe he is feeling better. Hope so. And hope you get that call soon!
That's what we are hoping...plus try to remind myself that no news is also good news but his wife would really love to be able to just talk with him and hear his voice and I can't blame her for that. :)
Hate that your daughter is miserable. Hope she feels better soon. That is enought to keep her from being strong not only physically, but emotionally, as well. My daughter is also in 09/172 and was sick in quarters also. She is much better now and is enjoying the experience. She always wanted lots of brothers and sisters and now she feels like she has that.
My son is one of the 18 year olds :)
No call yet, but his letter was very positive.
No letter yesterday or today:( Guess they really do just have Sundays to write.) Did anyone of 09/172 hear from their recruit today? I feel for those of you who didn't get that call this past week. It really helped me alot to hear my daughter's voice. Praying y'all get that call very soon. Please post when you do.
No call today... starting to feel like we may not get the middle call. but im still writing everyday. and tomorrow is sunday. which means my husband should be writing me a letter and getting some time to work at his own pace which makes me happy.
