Joni Hi. I sure hope my son wasn't one of those slackers. lol  My son never mentioned anything about his unit having slackers, however, he DID mention for awhile he was having trouble with folding his sleeves (and had several instances where he needed to get down on the ground.)  But recently I got a letter that he passed everything concerning hell week.

I don't actually think of my son as a slacker, he got to be Athletic Petty Officer right away upon  having done a fine job of it ,and got a collar device.  There was one letter in the beginning where he said he lost count as to how many times he was called a 'retarded jackass'.  He doesn't say that anymore.  I believe they are all fine young men and women.

We have been getting letters weekly for the past three weeks, but no letter this week.  Anyone else from Div 332 experiencing the same thing?  Just wondering if maybe they had some sort of problem this week that caused them to lose their mail priveledges.

They started "Hell" week Wednesday so possibly did not have time to write.

I received two letters from my daughter this week. She's in DIV 332.  She said they have been very busy and this week will be worse because of  Hell week   Some of them are so tired they stand up against the walls to rest.  They were going to have inspections and one was going to be a drill inspection also.  She wrote me on September 8th and she said "on the last two days we hardly received any letters, none yesterday, and like 8 today.  I think our mail has been getting mixed up or something."  I think it might have been because of Labor Day.   They were going to take their individual photos.    She also mentioned that they earned a Scholastic flag. :)

Hi I've been on here a few weeks but just came across this group so happy to read posts from others who have a sailor in the same division as my boyfriend! I am so excited to see him at graduation as I'm sure everyone here is excited to see their sailor! Not too much longer now!!! :-)

Hi,

We got two letters yesterday!  The first was positive and upbeat...  the second, he was worried about their Test 2 and their drill inspection.  I guess I'll be waiting a week, to find out how they did...  At least he is feeling better, after being sick for so much of boot camp - at least that's what he's telling us...  I hope your boys are recovering.  My thoughts are with you and your recruits.  Take care!

Leader?  My son is in 331, He is the Athletic Petty Officer, I guess he leads the exercise and stretches. What exactly does your daughter lead?  Did she tell you they got their 'collar devices' taken away because of the dummies who were goofing around Sat morning during Reveille?  I wasn't home with my son called us. But I got two letters and I think I'll get another one or so the end of the week.  I'm pretty proud of my son too.

Recruit Chief Petty Officer... she will be leading in her div for graduation. That means she will be in front of her div with a sword and will be announced by name at grad
She says alot of the girls/guys goof of and act like they dont want to succeed.
I got a 30 minute phone call from daughter who is Ship 09, Div. 332, today.   She sounded so positive.   She gave me a list of business stuff to do for her and then we got to just talk about how things are going.   She stated she made it through the "hell week".   She stated that next week is going to be bad as well.  She can't believe it is only 15 days until graduation.  She sounded so proud to have accomplished this, so far.   She mentioned photo's.   Does anyone know anything about that?  She put in one of her letters to not wait until graduation, something about not being able to print them out in time.

They had their photos taken last week should have gone to the nex to order the packets. We cannot order until PIR

When my son-in-law graduated he already had his pictures. What pictures are being orderedat the nex on PIR?

Hi! My son is on Ship 09 Div 331. I know you are all as anxious as I am...15 MORE DAYS!  He called yesterday and sounded great, but sick. Said everybody is sick. Hell week wasn't as bad as he thought it would be and he is enjoying the fireman training. After BS next week, they get two hours of talk time and the final week is basically like the last week of school...wrap up.

We get him for the day and then off to nuke school on Saturday. He wants corn bread  (??!) and a home cooked meal. We live in Chicago so he's coming home!  :)

I asked him about pictures and he said he would get them today, and they were very expensive. I have two step kids that graduated last year and both purchased their pics before PIR, I don't remember having the option (or even having a discussion) about the pictures before they got them.
