Anyone have a daughter or son in this group?  Ship 02 Div 906

Yes, My daughter is in this group.

Have you received the box or form letter. As of today have not received either. It appears their PIR is 12/29.

Hello Scotturk

I received her box last Tuesday Nov 1, and the form letter arrived Friday Nov 4. Yes, according to the letter DIV 906 is scheduled to graduate Dec 29. She wrote a brief note on the back of the letter saying this DIV will be performing at graduation, too.

Hopefully you will hear something soon.

We as grandparents(raising our granddaughter) are first time snowbirds and left from Wash to Bullhead City Ariz on Nov 1. The Post Office blew it and never forwarded our mail as requested so as of now no word from BC. I sent a letter when we left and hope it made it and the recruiter gave us the correct address.

Wow! What an adventure with your granddaughter leaving for boot camp and then you moving, this should make for some very interesting letters. The address you shared is the same for my daughter, so hopefully your granddaughter will get her letter soon. =)

My daughter's is PIR on 12/2 but her best friend shipped out two weeks after she did and is in this group.

I am from Arizona and I also have a daughter in this division.  When I first saw the Div 906 (900's are performance divisions) I wondered how she got there.  I had to laugh...her singing takes place with the radio on and it's still marginal, at best.  And I don't think her one year of violin lessons in 3rd grade qualifies her for band!  Then I heard it's also for drill/marching and performance at PIR so it made some sense.  Best of luck to all our 900's!

I have received her box and the letter.  The note on the back was tough to read.  It's a difficult few weeks of transition in the beginning.  She's not a happy camper at the moment.  She said the girls all want pictures to prove they were pretty before they got there!  I'm sure they are all still beautiful, they just don't feel like it at the moment.  I told her that her entire military time will not be like this!

The only difference in what came on my daughter's letter was the addition of the line Recruit Command Center listed after the ship/div line.  There was also an additional four zipcode numbers (7105), but essentially your address is correct. I hope your granddaughter gets her letter.

As many times as I've addressed her envelope I should of caught that..Great catch Eleesmom!

Funny I thought the same about the performance divisions. Who knows how they divided the girls, my daughter said she was keeping her mouth closed and staying below the radar. She didn't want to give anyone reason to yell at her. Then she asked if I could find a great restaurant to eat at after graduation, as the food was horrible. =( Last sentence mentioned the weather and how terrible it was so I needed to fly not drive. (We live in Ohio)

eleesmom . We received the box and form letter on Sat. Our mail has been delayed so no letters yet. We are trying to make arrangements to go to the PIR.Scaring making reservatons with non-refundable tickets when anything could happen to postpone PIR date. I am reading that they may have the opportunity to take Liberty after PIR prior to going to A school. I have mixed feelings about this , ie.. going in the hole on leave time. cost of travel arrangements, on her own when arriving at Pensacola. etc.. Alot of issues when we will see her at PIR and she will be given liberty after A school which is only 36 days.

I know what you mean about the non-refundable ticket issue.  But refundable tickets were $900. more for two people!  I don't know if you saw my post on the 12/29 main site, but I bought Southwest Airline tickets:  no change fee and if we have to cancel, heaven forbid, the money can be put towards another trip within a year of purchase date.  At least all would not be lost.

As far as I have heard, the graduates will be able to take any amount of leave days (up through 1/8/12).  I have suggested to my daughter that she only take her 5 earned days (not go in-the hole) as she may want a break after "A" school also.  Now, whether she takes this suggestion is a whole different story!  Also, what I discerned from other posts is that when they get to their "A" school airport, there will be base personnel to pick them up.  I sure hope that is the case.  So much of this is a "wait and see" issue.
