Just got the form letter from my daughter saying she is in Ship 11 Div 198 with a PIR of 6/29/12. It was so nice to get her address!

Hi Jacob's Mom, my SR is going Pensacola too. He told us he will be there for at least 3months. We were going to try to visit him there but not sure if we can make it. He is going into aviation electronics. Do you know what your son is going to be doing? So excited less than 4 weeks now!

Hi Shelly,

Yes, my son is going there to be an air traffic controller. He'll be there for 4 months. We've been to Pensacola before several times. The beaches there are so pretty! I'm counting the days for graduation from basic. It seems like it's been SO long since we've seen him. Have you talked to your SR? We haven't received any phones calls except for the first one where they tell you they're alive and made it to basic. I hope to hear from him soon!

Yes, we had 1 phone call.  I was driving home from work and saw the 847 area code on my phone.  I had to pull over.  It was sooooo good to hear his voice.  He called home and talked to his dad and I got home before he was done so we had about 30 minutes. That first phone call seems so long ago. We got a letter today and he sounds good.  He said the division is doing better as a group.  They are doing weapons this week and next week is firefighting and gas chamber.  My husband & I have never been to Pensacola before.  We are excited that we may be able to visit him in Florida, depending on his schedule.  Are you going to be in Great Lakes for PIR?  We are going to get in late on Thursday, so we won't be able to go to any of the Meet & Greets, I am bummed about that.  It would be fun to meet everyone that we have been chatting with for these weeks.  I hope you hear from your son soon.  I am sure that he is working hard and succeeding at everything.  Keep up the faith. This Friday is 3 weeks!!!!!!!

That's great!!! I'm still waiting, but thankful for the letters that we get on Fridays. Fridays are exciting days for us. :) The last letter was short, but he let us know things were getting easier for him and the group. Yes, my husband and I are going for PIR. We're driving from the Dallas area and plan to get there early Thursday afternoon so we can rest before the Meet & Greet. I signed us up for Sarges gathering. "IF" we aren't too tired from the 16 hour drive, we'll make it to the party. We might just have to rest and get ready for the best event... seeing our son graduate! :) From what I read about Air traffic control school, they go to classes Monday - Friday and have the weekends off. I don't think they have total freedom to do what they want on the weekends, so we'll have to wait and see before we make any plans. For now I'm counting the days until PIR and seeing our son again. He turned 21 in basic, so we get to celebrate his birthday with him while we're there too. Thank you for the news about what they are doing this week.

Keeping those kids in my prayers and counting the days!! =D

Anyone heard of a BattleStations date for 197/198?  As brother divisions, they will go through together.  If you have heard one from your SR, please friend request/private message it to me.  We cannot post the dates on the pages here but can private message it.  I am keeping a schedule for this group, but so far, don't have any confirmed dates.  Thanks!
